Wolf Tracks

As the final bells ring and the hallways of Lakeland Ridge grow quiet, I wanted to reach out and express our deepest, most sincere gratitude to all of you. Reflecting on the past ten months, this year has been a true testament to the strength, resilience, and heart of our school community.

It is no secret that this year brought some incredibly heavy lifting for our staff, students, and families. Navigating the challenges of the strike and the subsequent learning disruptions wasn't easy on anyone. Yet, through every hurdle, your unwavering grace and patience helped everyone get through.

I want to send a massive, heartfelt thank you to our School Council and our Parent Action Society. We see the hours you put in behind the scenes, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership. You are the backbone of our school culture and help ensure our students have an amazing school experience.

The last few weeks of school have felt like a beautiful whirlwind. Watching our school come alive with parents, volunteers, and community members has been absolutely incredible—it truly felt like the bustling, joyful school life we all cherished prior to Covid.

We’ve made so many incredible memories together recently, including:

• The Grade 3 Wax Museum: Where history came alive right in our hallways.

• The Grade 1 & 2 Science Fair: Showcasing the brilliant, curious minds of our youngest scientists.

• The Grade 9 Drama One-Act Performance: Which left us all in awe of the creativity and talent on display.

• Elementary World Cup Tournaments, Fun Day & Track and Field Day: Where our students showed unmatched school spirit, athleticism, and sportsmanship.

Finally, we hosted our Grade 9 Farewell on June 12, celebrating an exceptional group of Wolves as they prepare to leave the Lakeland den and transition to high school.

To our Grade 9s,

You are an incredible group of human beings. While your academic accomplishments and athletic prowess are undeniable, it is your character that has left an indelible mark on Lakeland. You have been phenomenal leaders, stepping up to become an integral part of the daily running and culture of our school.

By leading with respect and kindness, you have become phenomenal role models for our younger Wolves. You are exactly the type of people who bring hope to the world, and we could not be prouder to have been a part of your journey. Your high schools are incredibly lucky to have you. Remember, Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf!

Thank you again, Lakeland families, for sticking by us, lifting us up, and making this school year so special despite the challenges. I wish you all a safe, restful, and sun-drenched summer.

Warmly,

Andy Cunningham
