Athletic Event Reminders
While we appreciate the enthusiastic support of our community at our athletic events, to maintain students' and spectators' safety, we must remind everyone about expectations:
General Reminder for All Attendees:
1. Our campus is a tobacco, alcohol, and drug free environment. Last year, we had reports of alcohol consumption by adults during tailgating. Please know this is not permitted and moving forward we will have police presence monitoring the parking lots before, during, and after our games.
2. To enhance safety and prevent disruptions, we have always maintained a "No Re-entry" policy. However, last year we observed many unsupervised young people leaving the game, running around in the parking lot and then purchasing new tickets. This behavior is dangerous, especially with tailgating activities and young drivers using the busy parking lot. All non-high school students should be supervised and accompanied by an adult.
3. Unsupervised middle school students engaging in disruptive behavior, including running, throwing objects such as water bottles, and climbing on others' shoulders and equipment could result in these students being removed from the game without warning and parents will be required to drive them home.
4. To ensure the safety of our fans, backpacks are not permitted for any student, regardless of age.
5. Senior Admission: Individuals age 62 and older receive free admission to all games. Senior citizens must adhere to the no re-entry policy as well.
6. Quicker Entrance: To save time, especially at varsity football games, we highly recommend pre-purchasing tickets through our online partner at gofan.co
7. We also want to remind our community that golf carts are not permitted on our grass fields. They should be parked in designated parking spaces just like automobiles.
Information for Students:
1. To ensure the safety of our fans, backpacks are not permitted for any student, regardless of age. 2. All Sports Pass: The 2025-26 FHS All Sports Pass provide free admission to all regular season home games for all high school sports, all year long!
3. Student-Athletes: Passes are included when you pay your $230 Pay to Participate fee. Winter and spring-only athletes can pay $75 of their fee in the fall to get the pass early.
4. Sports pass: Any FHS student can purchase a pass for $75. Please stop by the Athletic Office to get yours.
5. Pass Entrance for Football: For varsity football games, students with an All Sports Pass should use the back entrance by the concession stand for quicker entry.

Voter Registration Week
In 2023, Governor Whitmer signed House Bill 4569 into law, which allows future Michigan voters to pre-register to vote when they turn 16 years old. This pre-registration enables eligible voters to vote as soon as they turn 18. To use this pre-registration process, a person must be at least 16 years old but not older than 17 and a half years old. If you pre-register, you can participate in early in-person or absentee voting for an election as long as you will be 18 on or before the date of the election. Those eligible to vote who are already older than 17.5 years old were previously allowed to register under MI law.

Work Permits
Under 16 years: https://www.michigan.gov/leo/bureaus-agencies/ber/wage-and-hour/work-permits
Age 16–17 yrs: https://www.michigan.gov/leo/bureaus-agencies/ber/wage-and-hour/work-permits
- Beginning April 2, 2025, HB 5594 changed work-hour restrictions for 14- and 15-year-olds to align with federal law, limiting them to 3 hours per school day, 18 hours per school week, and 40 hours per non-school week, with work allowed only between 7 AM and 7 PM (or 9 PM from May 31 until Labor Day)
- Work Permits Shifting to LEO - PA 196 of 2024 moves the responsibility for issuing work permits from schools to the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity starting no later than October 1, 2026. Schools will still retain the authority to revoke permits for attendance or academic concerns, maintaining a key leverage point for student engagement.
- There will be some additional, minimal process for employers and minors (or their parents), as well as a new database of authorized youth employers available online, but that process will be handled entirely by LEO once they take over the work permit system.

Safe Storage Law
Districts are required to send information home to parents and caregivers on the safe storage of firearms. This is in accordance with the “Safe Storage Laws,” MCL 28.429, MCL 380.1313a, and MCL 380.1313b. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services provided this information to the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for distribution.
Specific resources required to be sent home to parents and caregivers include:
Suicide Awareness & Prevention
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.
