Hello Navigators,

We had an amazing first week of school. It was inspiring to see our classroom communities develop as students learned expectations, class procedures and began to engage in learning experiences.

Next week Kinder and TK students can be picked up at 2:10. For Kindergarten see this form and for Transitional Kindergarten see this form. You have slightly different schedules and opportunities for the next two weeks. Feel free to contact the office for more information.

We appreciate your patience with traffic to and from school. We work to ensure everyone is safe and things move as as efficiently as possible. If you plan to get out of your vehicle please park so we can keep the traffic moving in the pick-up lanes.

For arrival we will open the gate to the left of the office (MPR gate) and back gate at 7:45. We will open the MPR door to the left of the MPR gate for TK and Kindergarteners to enter through. We have the staff to ensure all students are supervised to get to their lines and classrooms.

If you have not done so already, we need ALL families to complete the following two forms related to school meals.

All meals will continue to be free of charge for students.

We also need all families to complete the Data Confirmation so please complete if you have not done so yet.

See this flyer about some upcoming Love and Logic classes. These are amazing classes that can help all parents. I have taken the classes and it has helped me both as an educator and parent.

Please consider joining our PTO. Membership is $10 and support is so appreciated. The PTO does amazing things for the school including supporting field trips, planning events and assisting our classrooms. Check out the first edition of the PTO Newsletter! The BASE PROGRAM provides Before & After School care. If you are interested in enrolling your Child, please contact them through their website.

Nichols is a Leader in Me School. We practice the 7-Habits of Highly Successful People and provide leadership skills and opportunities for all! Check out this link to learn more.

Oceanside Unified School District has partnered with Care Solace to help families in need of mental health support. This services can help quickly find available services. We are so thrilled with out STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. We have Ms. Goulet who teaches the STEM parts of STEAM and Ms. Harmon who teaches Art. Check out the STEAM Newsletter for the latest information.

See the OUSD Covid Guidelines for more information about measures taken, at home screening, testing and more. Please screen your child for symptoms, keep them home if needed and get tested.
