Message from Mrs. Schneid
Dear Families,
This week was a short one with Monday and Tuesday off, but our students worked hard and stayed focused—especially during MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing. We are proud of their effort and look forward to watching the growth they will continue to make from now through the spring.
It’s hard to believe we are entering the last week of January! With February right around the corner, we are excited for many fun and meaningful events coming up at school.
As always, we continue to focus on decreasing our absenteeism rate by encouraging consistent school attendance. Being present, engaged, and ready to learn truly makes a difference. Of course, if your child is not feeling well, we absolutely want them to remain home and take care of themselves.
Please stay warm and safe as snow is predicted for tomorrow. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Warmly,
Tracy Schneid

Drop Off Safety Reminder
Drop-Off Safety Reminder
We appreciate your partnership in keeping our Little Titans safe during morning arrival. As a reminder, when dropping students off in the back, all vehicles must pull all the way up to the first adult on duty—typically Mrs. Rump or Mrs. Schneid. This procedure allows us to unload 15–16 cars at one time, keeping the line moving efficiently and ensuring students enter the building on time.
When cars stop closer to the doors instead of pulling forward, it slows the entire line and can delay students getting into the building. Most importantly, it can create unsafe situations for both staff and students. This past week, there were a few instances where drivers did not follow staff directions, placing staff members in unsafe positions.
Please remember that our staff is outside every morning to assist children as they arrive, and their directions are given with safety as the top priority. We also ask that drivers remain in the drop-off line and follow the one-directional loop, rather than pulling out of line and cutting across the parking lot. While this may seem minor, it only takes one car for others to follow, creating additional safety concerns.
We understand that mornings can be busy and that everyone has places to be. Our primary focus is getting our Little Titans into the building safely and efficiently, and we truly appreciate your cooperation and support in following our procedures.
Thank you for helping us keep our students, staff, and families safe—and as always, be a Titan. 💙
If you do not drop off in the morning and another family member does, such as a Grandparent, please be sure to share this important message.
Message from Officer Matt regarding Sandhurst Drive @ arrival and dismissal
Dear Brook Park Elementary School Parents,
We know your child’s safety is a top priority for you. If your student is a car rider and
you park on Sandhurst Drive (the street just west of BPE) please give consideration to
the residence on this street and fellow motorists. If you drop off or pick up your student,
ensure that you carefully cross the street. Here are some helpful tips for you and your
student:
Never allow children under age 10 to cross streets alone. Children need to be
old enough to develop the skills to cross streets safely.
Always model and teach proper pedestrian behavior.
Instruct children to look left, right and left again when crossing streets and to
continue looking as they cross.
Make sure children do not run into streets or dart from between parked cars
If you do park on this street, please ensure that you are parking legally. It is illegal to
block driveways or fire hydrants. Brook Park Police will be giving this are special
attention during morning drop off and afternoon pickup. Further, there is always plenty
of parking at the rec center parking lot. We also have student drop off at the back of
BPE. Again, please be courteous to the residence and fellow motorists on the
neighboring streets. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Sincerely,
Officer Matt
* additionally- be mindful of when you turn around in the driveway of a resident.

Attendance Matters
Attendance Matters
Regular school attendance plays an important role in helping children grow as learners and as confident members of our school community. Being at school each day helps students build strong learning habits, feel connected to their classmates and teachers, and experience success both academically and socially.
Families can support positive attendance by:
Establishing consistent morning and bedtime routines
Scheduling appointments outside of school hours whenever possible
Talking with your child about the importance of being present and ready to learn each day
We also encourage families to remind children that school is a safe, welcoming, and fun place to be. When students are absent, their teachers and classmates truly miss them!
Every day at school helps a child grow — academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for partnering with us to support strong attendance and a love of learning.
Currently we have 12% of our student body that is Chronically Absent.- Our goal is to decrease this percentage to 10% or less.

Recess Guidelines- Very Important to Read and Know!
Dear Guardians-
Please be sure to be familiar with these guidelines below. All students must be prepared to go outside. When we have snow and the temperature permits our students to be outside, we would love for them to play in the snow appropriately. To be allowed to play in the snow they must have all of the following:
Snow Pants, Coat/Jacket, Boots and Gloves
They DO NOT need these items to go outside, but do need them if they want to play in the snow. We have areas for the kids play in - they love it! They make snow angels, build snowmen- but they must be dressed appropriately to do so.
Next event is Jan. 28- Anxiety- Practical Strategies for Parents
The Mobile Dentist was at Brook Park Elementary on Wednesday , January 21st and Thursday, January 22nd , 2026. Due to No School on Jan. 20- if needed, they will be back on Friday, January 30.
