26-27 Lower School News - Week 2
August 28, 2026

From the Director of Lower School
August 28, 2026
Our first full week of school was filled with so much learning, laughter, and memory-making!
We celebrated our August birthdays together by singing “Happy Birthday,” enjoying cupcakes, and celebrating the gift of another wonderful year. These simple moments of celebration are part of what makes the Hilltop feel like home—a place where every child is known, valued, and celebrated.
Throughout the week, the Hilltop was filled with the joyful sounds of children learning and growing together. We watched students work through brain games, persevere through productive struggle, race to the top of the playscape, and imagine themselves as superheroes. In every classroom, hallway, and play space, our students were building confidence, friendships, curiosity, and independence.
During Parent Night, I shared one of the most important promises we make to our families: your child matters at St. Luke’s. We want every child to know that their voice matters, to feel safe and loved, to experience joy in learning, and to be supported as they grow. Throughout the year, that promise comes to life through experiences such as Declamations, the Innovation Lab, Chapel Buddies, Science, STEM, art, music, Angels’ Attic, daily chapel, and meaningful opportunities for service and leadership. Each of these experiences helps our students feel known, valued, connected, and confident in who they are becoming.
Thank you for partnering with us and trusting us to create a community where every Tiger can learn, grow, belong, and flourish—because your child matters here, your family matters here, and together, We are St. Luke’s.
