Dear SHS Families,

I want to say thank you to all of the families that attended Back to School Night this week. It was so nice to get to talk with you all again and share ideas about what this school year has in store for us. If you were unable to attend. Please reach out to your student’s teachers to make sure you have all the information that you need for the school year. I want to welcome our new families once again to the SHS community. I hope you all had an excellent first full week and are feeling welcomed into the school community.

In this newsletter, you will find information about the upcoming Virtus training course happening here at the school on September 28th. This training is required by any adult who wishes to volunteer at SHS. That includes chaperoning field trips and classroom parties such as Christmas and Halloween. This is a one-time training that will never need repeating but is required by all Archdiocesan organizations for volunteers who work with children. Know that if you are unable to attend the Sept. 28th training, there are other available dates to attend, however, those trainings will likely take place in the Lawrence or Kansas City area. I encourage all households to have at least one adult complete the training.

• Sunday, August 25th, NOON - Back to School Potluck in the Parish Center. EVERYONE INVITED! Bring a main dish and a side dish, salad or dessert. Drinks and service ware provided.
