Principal's Corner
Hello FamiLEE,
Progress reports came out on Wednesday! The school year is winding down quickly and we need all students to be here and focus so they can finish the year strong.
We need your help. Students are not allowed to walk back and forth to their cars after entering the building unless an administrator approves. All email checkouts must be submitted by noon daily. If not submitted by noon, you must physically check your young adult out. All checkouts must happen before 3:15p.m.
I want to continue to emphasize the importance of all students being here each day and on time. Good attendance is essential for achievement in school and we need your child here as much as possible so that we can move forward as a school community. When your child misses school for any reason, please send excuse notes to LHS.Attendance@hsv-k12.org.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Kitrise Torain
LHS Principal

Shout-Outs
- Shout-out to the our dance performance students for a phenomenal spring show “Legacy" this week! We are so proud of them.
- Shout-out to Lee’s Green Ambassadors who were featured on WHNT News 19! Our Green Ambassadors were recently featured by WHNT Channel 19 for their inspiring work in environmental science and sustainability. This hands-on program—founded by Mr. McDonald—gives students the opportunity to collect real biodiversity data using iNaturalist, design native plant habitats, and advocate for a healthier, greener campus. With support from the Land Trust of North Alabama, this year the Green Ambassadors are turning science into action. Thanks to these partnerships and a recent City of Huntsville grant, the program will continue to grow and impact our school and community for years to come. Read the full WHNT article here: https://whnt.com/.../high-school-students-learning.../ We’re incredibly proud of our students for leading the way in local environmental change.
