Dear Parents and Carers,

Today marks the start of an important week for our Year 6 pupils, as they embark on KS2 SATs week. I want to start by saying how proud we all of each and everyone of you. Your hard work and commitment to your learning this year has been wonderful to see. We know that SATs tests are simply a chance to show what you already know. This week, remember that whatever the result, we celebrate the confident, creative and independent young people you have grown to be. Good luck Year 6 we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Please keep in mind these reminders, for the warmer weather to come:

  • Uniform: Please ensure children are in their summer uniform and have a sun hat for outdoor play.

  • Sun Protection: As the weather warms up, please apply sun cream before school.

  • Water Bottles: Staying hydrated is essential for focused learning- please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school.

Best wishes,

Ms R McGylnn

Autism Acceptance Assembly

On 11th May, the Mental Health Support team delivered assemblies at both sites, as part of Mental Health awareness week. The theme of this special assembly was Autism Acceptance. The session encouraged everyone to remember that sometimes people can think or behave differently from us, that we are all unique, and that we should embrace and celebrate our differences. Thank you to the MHST for such an insightful assembly.

Year 2 trip to Meridian Gardens

On Friday 8th May, Vocation class we visited the Meridian Gardens in Edmonton, to consolidate their learning about plants in Science. Year 2 pupils learnt about sustainability and used egg yolk mixed with paint to decorate some egg shells which had soil and we sprinkled some seeds on! Everyone had a great time and learnt something new. Well done, Year 2!

Prayer Challenge

For the month of May, Mrs Rodrigues has set everyone a challenge- to join together in saying the Hail Mary 1000 times this month. In the prayer room children a contribute a Hail Mary and write what or who they would like to prayer for, as we ask our Mother Mary to intercede for us. It's looking likely that we will have over 1000 Hail Mary's altogether, well done everyone.

First Holy Communion

On Saturday 9th May some of our pupils from received the sacrament of blessed Eucharist for the very first time. It was a wonderful celebration of our children as they made the next step in faith, with their family and friends proudly witnessing. Prayer & Reflection Prayer & Reflection

Prayer Room

Our prayer room contribution come from Alexandra in Year 4 & Adele in Year 6.

Lord Jesus,

you became man and came to live among us.
For love of us, you suffered and died for us.
Because you are God, you conquered death and rose on the third day.
Today you return to your Father and our Father,
but you promised to remain with us until the end of time,
and to send us the Holy Spirit.
We rejoice and thank you, Lord Jesus.
Come Holy Spirit, purify and transform us,
kindle within us the fire of your love.
Amen.

By Alexandra

Dear Jesus,

I pray for all the year 6s that are almost writing their SATs.

I pray that they pass and use their God given knowledge to pass their exams in the future.

Amen

Reflection for our community

As we begin a new week together, we remember that every day is an opportunity to live with kindness, courage, and faith. In the busyness of school life β€” learning, playing, helping, and growing β€” God is present in the small moments as much as the big ones.

In this week’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us to love one another. Love is shown not only through words, but through actions: welcoming someone who feels left out, showing patience, forgiving quickly, and doing our best even when things are difficult.

For our school community, this is a chance to think about how we can be signs of God’s love to each other:

In our classrooms through respect and encouragement, in the playground through friendship and fairness, at home through gratitude and helpfulness and in prayer through trust and hope.

May we remember that each person in our community is created in the image of God and has gifts to share. When we work together with compassion and joy, we help build a school filled with peace and belonging.
