Greetings Highlander families
As we move into December we also move deeper into the 2nd Quarter and we intensify focus on academics and assessments. This is the time of year when the state assessment data becomes public, report cards are distributed, plans for improvements are established, and celebrations for growth and success bring us together.
Recently, the state assessment scores were released. The administration team is doing an internal review of this data in preparation to present this information to all stakeholders. At, our December SIT meeting, we will share and discuss the data, our steps to prepare our students, and ways to build buy-in from everyone.
In January we plan to hold our RICAS, P/SAT, and ACCESS celebration nights and our information nights. We are working to schedule the dates and will make them public as soon as we can confirm them. These events provide us the opportunity to celebrate our students’ success and growth, as well as to share test results and information.
We are excited to celebrate our students' success and growth with everyone playing a part. These results are due to the focused planning, quality instruction, test prep, interventions, and developing testing culture at the school. Thank you to our department coaches, teachers, specialists, and guidance for all their hard work and the integral and vital part they played in this success. Thank you to the families for your support and encouragement as well.
The Second Quarter is an important time of year, especially with academics as it marks the halfway point of the year. Progress Reports will be distributed on December 13th. This is the halfway point for the quarter, which is a strong indicator of where students stand with being on track for passing their courses for the quarter. I encourage you to message your child’s teachers in the subjects they are struggling in to understand what they need to improve their grades. Please continue to access Skyward to review grades and check Google Classroom for news and assignments from your child’s classes.
It is a pleasure to serve as your child's principal!
With the outmost gratitude,
Wil Pabst

What we're up to
- Mrs. Khalil - 12th grade British Literature and Honors British Literature classes fashioned their class norms after the medieval Knight's Code of Chivalry designed their coat of arms with symbols that represent their and/or their family's individual values and cultural heritage, which they presented. This month, their Class Code posters have arrived and students signed their names to show they agree with their Class Code of Chivalry!
- Ms. Helena & Mrs. Wnuk- took our seniors on several tours and visits to local universities.
- Mrs. Weigand and Mr. Whittle - Held an incredible kick off for our Middle school mentoring program. This program allows our high school students to provide specialized support to our middle students while our high school students further develop their leadership skills
