Harding's Help Desk
We hope you had a fantastic first week—we know we have!
With the start of school, students need to get into a consistent routine. Growing brains need both structure and plenty of sleep.
Getting Back into Routine
As we settle into the school year, it’s important to help your child establish a consistent after-school and bedtime routine. A well-rested child is ready to learn and thrive!
How much sleep does a growing child need?
To support their developing brains and bodies, most school-aged children need 9–11 hours of sleep each night.
A simple bedtime routine could include:
-
Turning off screens (TV, tablets, video games) 30–60 minutes before bed
-
Putting on pajamas and brushing teeth
-
Reading a book, taking a warm bath, or listening to calming music
-
Choosing a favorite stuffed animal or blanket
Sweet dreams lead to bright mornings! 🌙✨
We’ve included additional details in this newsletter—please read it in full to make sure you have everything you need.
If you are ever in need of assistance or support, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here at the school at 485-8271.
Sincerely,
Assistant Principal Harding
Tip of the Month
A checklist helps elementary children build independence, stay organized, and remember important tasks. It creates routine, reduces stress, and gives them a sense of accomplishment as they check things off.
