Glenn School Eagle Post
November 2026
Superintendent's Nest
As we leap into November, please help your child come prepared for outdoor play in the mornings by dressing appropriately for the weather. We all know how quickly the weather can change here in Michigan! Having an extra set of clothes at school is always helpful in case of an accident; we do have a few extras available if needed. Students also need a pair of indoor shoes which can stay at school and be kept on top of their cubbies each day. As we head toward winter, please keep boots, snow pants, gloves, and hats handy and ready to go. If your child is in need of any of these items, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can make arrangements to ensure every student has what they need.
We will have the South Haven American KLegion Honor Guard here on Wednesday, November 11th at noon outside by the flagpole. There will be a ceremony at that time with all the students, staff, and community members. We will also have a Field of Flags planted this day. Please plan to join us!
For the month of November, we will be collecting canned goods to donate to Ladders of Hope Food Pantry in Fennville. This pantry relies heavily on donations, especially during the holiday season. You can send in canned goods to place under The Giving Tree during regular school hours.
We’re excited to once again host our Circle of Lights event the day after Thanksgiving on
Friday, November 27th, from 5- 7 p.m. This is a special evening when our school opens its doors for the community to enjoy holiday cheer. The town will be beautifully decorated and glowing with lights and joy. If you would like to help decorate the school or the town, there is a committee always looking for new members and helpers; I can connect you with them. Our PTC will also host the annual Cookie Caper fundraiser. Donations of freshly baked cookies of all kinds are gratefully accepted and packaged into boxes for purchase. The PTC will also sell hot cocoa, offer crafts for children in the classrooms, and raffle off themed baskets. All proceeds directly benefit our students, staff, and school. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and showcase our unique school and community spirit! There is a Sign-Up Genius for cookie bakers, along with set-up, during, and tear-down.
Each month, students bring home a book to build their home libraries. Teachers also send home Scholastic Book Order packets with affordable book options to encourage reading at home. We recommend that all students read at least 20 minutes per night to strengthen literacy skills and foster a lifelong love of reading. Remember: Readers are Leaders!
Get outside and enjoy the Autumn season!
Sincerely,
Jamie Walle
