Oakhurst Weekly

Thank you to our amazing Mystery Readers who made yesterday so special! While the students loved the surprise, the benefits go far beyond fun.

• For the Kids: Reading aloud is vital even as students age. It bridges the gap between their listening and reading levels, allowing them to enjoy complex stories they might not yet be able to read independently.

• For the Adults: It turns out, we love it too! Studies show that shared reading reduces stress and increases social connection for adults.

Thank you to our volunteers for bringing these stories to life!

The store closes @ midnight tomorrow, Friday, February 6th.

Oakhurst families, please complete and submit this food insecurity request form if your student is experiencing food insecurity within the home and is in need of some supplemental weekend snacks.

The Decatur Education Foundation supplies Oakhurst with snack bags for any student in need. This request form will go directly to our school counselor, Ms. King, and she will send home a snack bag with your student every Friday. Please go through each week's snack bag to remove any snack you may not want your child to have due to allergy concerns, etc.
