Dear Temple Athletics Family,

As 2024 comes to a close, I am excited about the trajectory of Temple University and our athletics programs: the optimism that President John Fry brings to campus with his experience and leadership; the women’s basketball team winning the Big 5 Championship; our women’s field hockey and men’s soccer teams advancing to their conference postseason tournaments; and the energy and excitement surrounding last week’s press conference where we introduced our new head football coach K.C. Keeler.

I would like to congratulate the Temple women’s basketball team on winning the first-ever Big 5 Classic championship at Villanova on December 6. Coach Richardson and our talented student-athletes showed they are the best team in Philadelphia with the win over Villanova. I hope to see everyone in Liacouras Center this Sunday, December 15, as we host nationally-ranked West Virginia at 2 pm. Please come out to support our Owls. If you cannot make it, the game will be televised on ESPN2.

As we enter the holiday season, I want to extend my warmest wishes and gratitude to each one of you. May this time be filled with joy, rest, and time with loved ones. Here’s to a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous New Year! GO OWLS!

On Tuesday, December 10, members of the Nancy & Donald Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes celebrated the Temple student-athletes who are graduating at the end of the fall term. Overall, 20 Owls will receive their degrees at the close of the semester.

Prior to the Owls’ 110-81 victory over Holy Family on December 10, graduate student Jamal Mashburn Jr. was honored for having scored the 2,000th point of his collegiate career recently. The Miami, Fla., native, who transferred into Temple after spending time at New Mexico & Minnesota, has scored 20 or more points in eight of the team’s first nine games and currently ranks ninth nationally in scoring at 22.0 points per game.

The storied Temple men's basketball program is approaching an historic milestone, as it has totaled 1,998 victories over the years and stands just two away from becoming the sixth NCAA Division I program to accomplish the feat.

The Temple Sports Radio Network has transitioned to a new, easily accessible platform at owlsports.com/listen.

This means that listening to the Owls' football, men's basketball, and women's basketball games is now more straightforward than ever. There's no need to download an app and there is no cost involved. Fans from every corner of the globe can now tune in and hear the games live.

Reminder that ESPN+ is the home of Temple Athletics. Watch Temple athletics events via an ESPN+ subscription.
