PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, February 13th
The Wheeling Township Food Pantry was SO happy to receive our food drive donations last week! Thank you to the staff and students who took time out of their day to help deliver it all on Friday, and thank you to everyone who donated items!
Our Valentine's Day celebrations warmed the heart today, and I am so grateful to all the room parents and volunteers who gave their time to plan such fun activities. Please enjoy some photos below!
Please remember that school will NOT be in session on Monday, February 16th. We look forward to seeing all who signed up for a parent-teacher conference.
I hope you all enjoy the long weekend!

5 ESSENTIALS SURVEY (UPDATED POST!)
The statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey is now open through March 13. This survey is an opportunity for parents/guardians, teachers/staff, and 4th through 12th grade students to share thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness, specifically about your/their school.
5Essentials
🚨NEED 20% Parent Participation by March 13!
We are asking our parents to please participate in the 5Essentials Survey:
🚨 Please note: A parent supplement report will only be generated if at least 20 percent of a school’s parents complete the survey. Currently our response rate is at 8%.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
Student Participation (Grades 4-8 ONLY):
At Patton, 4th Grade students will take this survey on February 24th and 5th Grade students will take this survey on February 26th. Should you wish your child not participate, please fill out the following opt-out form:
Should you wish to review the student questions visit the Illinois 5Essentials Support Center and search "Student Questions" or click here and download the Student Survey Questions file.
For more information about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, their Support Center's search function is extremely helpful. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact UChicago Impact Client Services at 1-866-440-1874 or impact-surveys@uchicago.edu.
SPRING CLASS PHOTOS - Thurs., February 2026 (NEW POST!)
On Thursday, February 26th, Stuart Rodgers Photography will be back at Patton to take class photos. Parents will have the opportunity to view and order class photos after they have been taken.
New this year - If your child is a part of any clubs or groups, they are having their photo taken when they are meeting throughout the year.
THANK YOU JUDGE COSTELLO (NEW POST!)
On Thursday, Cook County Judge Jack Costello came to Patton to speak with our 5th Graders as part of the state wide "Judges in the Classroom" program. This was a great opportunity for our 5th graders to meet and interact with a member of the Judiciary, learn about what Judges do and have the opportunity for some Q&A.
Judge Costello is a lifelong resident of Arlington Heights and his children both attend/have attended Patton. We are so grateful to him for his time and I know the students enjoyed hearing him share about his experiences.
ABC/25 FOUNDATION - FUNDRAISER (NEW POST!)
Come along and help support the ABC/25 Foundation at their 2nd Annual TopGolf fundraiser. This was such a successful event last year and I hope many of you are able to attend it this year! You can register for the event by clicking on the image below or HERE.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to make this year's book fair such a huge success! We are thrilled to see the students get so excited about the books that they see.
I want to extend our gratitude to Mrs. Schultz and Mrs. Ballinger for organizing the book fair again this year! The book fair will be OPEN during conferences on Monday, February 16th so please stop by and browse the extensive collection of books. You are sure to find something for the avid readers you have at home.
