Dear Bedford Public Schools Community,

At their April 6th meeting, the School Committee voted to renew my superintendent contract for another 3 years. I'd like to take this opportunity to express my profound appreciation for the opportunity to continue serving the Bedford Public Schools community over the next three years and I do not take it for granted. This past year has not been without its challenges. I am not a perfect superintendent, leader, or person. I have reflected on the areas that require growth and I am committed to doing so. We have heard many voices across our community—those who have offered support, those who have asked hard questions, and those who care deeply about our schools---none of which are mutually exclusive. While we have not always agreed, we share a commitment to the excellence of our schools, and that is what will keep us grounded. As we look ahead, our work is clear. We will continue to advance our strategic plan, strengthen learning outcomes for all students, and build on efforts like the Anti-Hate/Bias Taskforce to ensure every student feels safe, seen, and supported. I am particularly heartened by the leadership of our students in this work (e.g., Bedford Students Participate in Celtics Playbook Initiative - The Bedford Citizen). Even as we navigate real budget challenges, we remain committed to preserving the well-rounded educational experience that makes Bedford special. I am optimistic about what we can accomplish together, and I am ready to lead with focus, collaboration, and a continued commitment to doing what is best for our students.

With gratitude,

Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅

Superintendent, Bedford Public Schools

The District will be hosting a final parent focus group for the JGMS & BHS Skills Center/Academic Achievement program to gather feedback from families. This session is an opportunity to share input as we work to preserve what is working well while thoughtfully considering how to best staff the program. This final virtual session will be held via Zoom on Monday, April 27th at 7pm. We encourage all interested parents and caregivers to participate and share their perspectives. Please RSVP for these events here. We will also be gathering feedback from students and staff. If you are unable to make this session, you are always welcome to reach out to the Superintendent or either Assistant Superintendent to share your feedback in another way.
