Lock Down Drill
This important safety drill has students review and practice procedures in case of an intruder in the building.
Illinois state law requires that a law enforcement drill be conducted within the first 90 days of school, and the law enforcement must be present during the drill to supervise and provide feedback.
While we hope and pray we will never need to use these strategies, we always want to be prepared in case of emergencies.
An email/letter will be going home next week as a reminder. Should you not want your child to participate in this safety drill, please notify Mrs. Vissering via email by September 15th.
Spirit Week & Hispanic Heritage Month Kick Off
Next week during Advisory, students will be doing activities to learn, highlight and celebrate Hispanic people, places, and traditions.

D62 Strategic Plan
We want to hear from you!
The Community Consolidated School District 62 Board of Education will begin the process of developing a new multi-year strategic plan with support from students, staff, parents and stakeholders. The current process is designed to empower stakeholders to collaborate and create a shared vision and goals for the future of the district and strategies to achieve them.
The Board of Education is seeking suggestions for issues to be included in the development of our new strategic plan. This will be the defining initiative to shape our school district for the next three to five years and beyond.
The survey remains open through September 21. To access the survey, please visit here.
