A Note from the Principal A Note from the Principal

Hello Stonebridge Families,

We are three weeks into the new school year! Students and staff have found a lot of joy in the stability that comes with getting into new routines. Our kids did an exceptional job this week practicing two Standard Response Protocol (SRP) Drills. We will practice one additional SRP drill next week and start bus safety in this month, too.

Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

Sincerely,

Principal Derek Berg

Can I visit my child during the school day?

With school now fully underway, there are some opportunities to visit your child during the school day, but there are some requirements and procedures you must follow.

Driver's License Needed

  • You need to have your driver's license every time you visit. We scan it each time so you can get a visitor's badge to wear while in our school.

  • When you are done with your visit, please come back to the office to sign out.

No Walking In

  • If you are dropping off your student late or picking them up early from the school, a staff member can walk your student down if needed or we can call down your student to the office.

  • To reduce classroom interruption, we do not have families walk their child down to the classroom.

  • Please note, after 9:00 a.m., any changes to a child’s end of day plans should be communicated to the office at 651-351-8700 so they can get a note sent to your child. Prior to 9:00 a.m. you can put the change in PowerSchool.

Lunch Visits

  • Families are welcome to have lunch with their student(s) any day, no need to call ahead of time to inform the school as long as the family member is listed as a known contact for your child in PowerSchool.

  • Please remember to bring your driver's license to sign in.

  • If you visit, we ask you to only go to the lunch room and back to the office to sign out. To reduce classroom interruption, we do not have families walk their child down to the classroom.

  • You may bring outside food for your student but do not share this food with any other student that is not your own to avoid any food allergies.

Volunteering

  • If you would like to volunteer in a classroom, please reach out directly to your student's teacher.

  • If there is a volunteer opportunity in your child’s classroom, please have a completed background check done. They are free and last for four years.

  • Please the office at stonebridge@stillwaterschools.org if you are unsure whether your background check is expired or if you need a background check done.

  • Again, please bring your driver's license to sign in each time to come to volunteer.

  • You will receive an email within one to five business days containing a custom link for you to complete your background check. Links expire 48 hours from when they are created.

Can I have a friend ride home with me on the bus?

For elementary students, yes friends permitted, as space allows, but your child must have a note to hand to the bus driver that states your child’s first and last name, the student they are going home with and which bus they should go on. Please include your name and phone number in case the bus driver needs to contact you to verify.

Please note, do not send a large group of students home on the bus on the same day, such as for a birthday party. We understand that having a friend ride home can be important for families. However, many of our buses are operating at or near capacity. Limiting additional riders helps ensure all eligible students have a seat and allows us to run routes as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

Also, Middle, High School & Charter/Private Schools are not permitted to have friends ride home on the bus.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to provide reliable transportation for all students. If you have additional questions, please contact Stillwater Schools Transportation via phone at (651) 351-8377 or by email at schoolbus@stillwaterschools.org. For the fastest service, please complete a Transportation Help Desk Ticket. Our bus company, Schmitty and Sons, can be reached via phone at (651) 571-1830.

Save the Date: Color Gallop 2026!

Lace up those sneakers — our biggest PTA fundraiser of the year is about to kick off! The Stonebridge Color Gallop will be held on Saturday, September 26 from 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. Walk, run, skip, roll or cheer along a one-mile course bursting with kid-safe color and fun!

Every step and splash of color helps raise funds for PTA grants, classroom resources, special experiences, and so much more that directly benefits our kids. Watch E-News and Friday Folders for more info coming out in the next weeks.

Opt-In for your Color Gallop t-shirt

New this year, we are running a leaner, greener Color Gallop! Students who would like a new Color Gallop t-shirt may opt-in for one via this form. Students who already have a Color Gallop shirt from previous years may choose to reuse it. If you have extra Color Gallop shirts laying around, we will be collecting them in the front vestibule leading up to the event. Let's keep more money going to the school and fewer t-shirts going to the landfills!

No Rain, Only Rainbows!

In the event of inclement weather, the Color Gallop Rain Date will be Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. We will make the Gallop/No Gallop decision by Friday evening and announce it via email and the Stonebridge PTA Facebook group.
