THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS
On Thursday, October 23, 2025, Red Land High School hosted our 7th Career Exploration Day. The Career Exploration Program at Red Land High School emphasizes the importance of post-secondary plans for all students: Enrolled • Enlisted • Employed. This day provided our students with exposure to career opportunities, financial literacy, a college and career fair, college visits, the various branches of the Armed Forces, local businesses, real-life experiences, and more. We would like to thank all those that participated in our event. Your time and dedication to enriching student experiences is truly appreciated.

SPORTS STATISTICS
Sports Statistics with Mr. Wagner isn't just a math class, it's a history class, a non-fiction class, and a lesson on engagement in public speaking. Mr. Wagner runs a series on athletes, sports, and the statistics that surround them, to help engage his students and educate them on not just the mathematics but the stories that goes with it. How did statistics help Muhammad Ali? What about Reggie White or Babe Ruth? When you walk into Mr. Wagner's Sports Statistics class, you are walking into the records room in a Sports Hall of Fame Museum.
GUEST SPEAKER: NEIL CONNELLY
Mrs. Sandy Walters and Mr. Jared Washburn hosted an author visit with Neil Connelly in preparation for the Scholastic Art and Writing competition. Students wishing to participate in the Scholastic Art and Writing competition were all invited to attend.
Additionally, Mrs. Walters is taking students to Susquehanna University for their Creative Writing Day on November 14, 2025. They'll participate in workshops and hear students and professors read their original works.
RLHS ACADEMIC WORLDQUEST TEAM
Academic WorldQuest (AWQ) inspires high school students and teachers across the United States to embrace a culture of global engagement. Red Land student teams are meeting weekly on Tuesdays to prepare for the Academic WorldQuest in March or April. Each student is responsible for becoming the expert in 2 or 3 categories of world affairs by studying curated lists of resources.
FBLA LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP
FBLA Members had the opportunity to attend and engage with other schools in our York County Region 6 Leadership Workshop. It was an incredible experience to network, share ideas, and explore new strategies to strengthen our chapter through community service, fundraising, and more. Beyond the workshops and discussions, we had a great time bonding as a chapter and enjoying some fun team-building games together!

R • L • H • S EXPECTATIONS
Red Land is proud of our culture and climate, yet we recognize we must continue to grow and nurture our culture. We also recognize expectations must be the same for everyone (students, staff, and families) in order for our culture to thrive and improve.
The R•L•H•S Expectations are expectations designed for ALL constituents of Red Land. This common vocabulary and the R•L•H•S Expectations are outlined below. We will share the R•L•H•S Expectations at our grade level meetings, as well as the commitment to recognize students and staff when the R•L•H•S Expectations have been demonstrated.
Through this framework, along with positive reinforcement and accountability, we want to create a safe learning environment at Red Land.
NO CELL PHONES DURING CLASS
- Many studies have shown that cell phones are a major distraction for students in schools. West Shore School District, along with both high schools, believe that students will be able to obtain all the information they need through their new iPads. Therefore, cell phones will no longer be allowed during class time. This will also include any form of headphone.
- Students may still use their cell phones during non instructional times, such as lunches and in between classes. During class time, cell phones cannot be out, so students either need to put them into classroom phone lockers or keep them in their backpacks.
YOUR CHILD'S ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
