WELCOME BACK LETTER! WELCOME BACK LETTER!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to a new and exciting school year at Greenfield Elementary!

We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break filled with memorable moments. As we prepare to open our doors for the 24/25 academic year, we are eager to begin this journey of learning and growth with your children. Our wonderful and amazing staff has been working hard to ensure that our classrooms are ready and equipped to provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment. We are committed to creating an atmosphere where each child feels valued and motivated to reach their full potential. Here are a few important updates and reminders as we start the new school year:

1. **First Day of School**: Classes will begin on Tuesday July 23rd 2024. School hours are from 8:10-2:55 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 8:10-1:55 on Early Release Wednesdays. Please ensure that your child arrives on time, ready to learn and engage each day!

2. **Meet the Teacher Night**: We invite you to join us for Meet the Teacher Night on Friday, July 19th from 4:00-5:30 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child's teacher, learn about the school, and ask any questions you may have.

3. **School Supplies**: A list of required school supplies has been posted on our website and sent in this first edition of the Gator Bite! If you need assistance with obtaining supplies, please contact our office.

4. **Attendance/Tardies**: I wanted to take a moment to inform you about some new attendance policies that will be implemented going forward to ensure the safety and learning of all our students. Starting immediately, it is now required that children have a parent sign them in when they arrive tardy or return to school after being signed out. Additionally, students will not be able to be signed out after 2:15 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and after 1:15 pm on Wednesdays. These changes are in place to prevent disruptions during dismissal time and allow our front office staff to focus on safely coordinating students' transportation at the end of the day. Any end-of-the-day sign-outs must now be completed before the specified times.

**Teacher Requests and Student Placements**: As much as I would like to place every student where parents and families have requested, that is simply not something I can do. In order to ensure fairness and equity and create a system and structure for this, I will not be taking teacher requests unless under extreme and unique circumstances. It's a simple rule as If we allow it for one, I must allow it for all. Every teacher at Greenfield comes with great knowledge and experience and will create amazing and worthwhile learning and experiences for your child. I appreciate your understanding and support on this matter!

We are excited to welcome our new students and families to Greenfield and look forward to seeing our returning students grow and thrive. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Together, we can make this school year a positive and enriching experience for all.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 480-892-2801 or visit our amazing front office staff! Let's make this a fantastic year!

Go Gators!

Warm regards,

Mr. Brian Lockwood Principal
