Celebrate and Enjoy Your Break!
We are so excited by all of the progress our MVS students have made over this first semester! We have all worked hard to be successful virtual students and have learned how schedule or time, complete our assignments, and learn from the comfort of home. Being a successful virtual student is not easy! Thanks to all all of the moms, dads, and grandparents who have aided in this success! Please take a moment to take pride in this accomplishment! Go M@VS! You all are awesome!
10th-12th graders-- Finish Strong!
Since 10th - 12th graders classes on the block, these first semester classes are about to end. Be sure to finish strong, complete all assignments, and take your Final test seriously. Passing grades will earn the first ever MVS high school credits!
MVS Monitoring Report Released
Each year the Tennessee Department of Education requires school systems to monitor their virtual schools. MVS has just completed this process and scored in the highest category, Meeting Expectations! Please click here to view the report.
10th-12th Graders- Schedules for Second Semester
10th, 11th, and 12th graders start new classes in January! The schedule of classes that you received in August at Orientation has these courses listed. As a reminder, we will be emailing out Semester 2 schedules over break. Be on the look out for them!
Weekly Progress Reports by Email
Each week, we will be sending out a weekly progress report with current grades and attendance. This is the same information you can get by logging into the PowerSchool parent portal, but hopefully it will just be a simple reminder of your child's progress. If you want to see specific assignment grades, you may still login to PowerSchool. If you have a question about a grade or have an attendance question, please reach out to the teacher via email.
New Cell Phone Policy
We are instituting a new cell phone policy for students who are invited in to the Academic Support Center to work on assignments. Students may bring their cell phones with them to the ASC, but cell phones need to stay stowed away out of site in back backs or pockets. The exception to this will be to contact a parent for pick up or listen to music through headphones while working (unless the work is something that needs to be listened to). Students who do not follow this policy will be asked to place their phone the teacher's desk or to work from home.
