Principal's Message

Dear Boulder Creek Families,

Tomorrow is Monday which means all students are dismissed @ 1:09pm. Please be plan ahead and be patient in our parking lot. I have included some parking lot reminders below. Remember to be courteous and set an example for our children.

Parent Club Meeting: Wednesday, September 10th at 5:30pm in the library. More information below.

Cafeteria Reminder: Our cafeteria staff would like to send a friendly reminder that there isn't a way to warm up food you send your child with in their lunch. Please provide a lunch that doesn't need to be heated up. Thank you for your understanding as they are busy preparing breakfast and lunch for the entire school.

ELAC Meeting: This is a gathering of parents, staff, and community members to discuss and advise on programs and services for English Learner (EL) students at a school site. The purpose of an ELAC meeting is to give parents of English Learners a voice in their children's education, help them understand available programs, and provide input on how to best support EL students and families. Fill out this FORM if you would like to participate on September 18th at 2:30pm.

Lockdown Drill: We will have our first lockdown drill this week. A lockdown drill gives the staff and students practice when it might be necessary to secure the school building quickly to ensure everyone’s safety. During the drill, students and staff will practice procedures such as securing classrooms and waiting for instructions. This helps everyone understand their role and respond calmly and effectively if ever faced with a real emergency.

Dance Crew Weekend Workshop: This weekend Dance Crew has a workshop weekend, Friday 6-9pm, Saturday 8am - 9pm, and Sunday 1-4pm.

Junior High Sports: Soccer and Volleyball vs. Sequoia tomorrow at Boulder Creek @ 4pm and Wednesday @ Redding Christian @ 4pm. Junior High Soccer will be participating in the U-Prep Tournament on Thursday and Friday. Junior High Cross Country Meet @ Enterprise Park on Thursday, September 11th @ 3:30pm. Good luck BC Bears!

Want to get some Boulder Creek gear? Boulder Creek School T-Shirt Order Forms are available and due by Friday, September 12th.

It is going to be another great week at Boulder Creek. Thank you for all your continued support!

  • Our first Parent Club Meeting is coming up this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the library. We invite you to be Proactive and join the meeting to see how you can become involved in your child’s school experience! Important decisions will be made regarding how money will be spent.

Boulder Creek's Parent Club meetings will be on the second Wednesday of each month. This year there will be two incentives for parent attendance.

The class with the most parent attendance for the first three meetings September 10th, October 8th, and November 12th, will earn a $50.00 Amazon gift card for their child’s classroom! The second reward will be an ice cream party at the end of April for the class with most parents in attendance throughout the year.

Finally, keep selling those Riffle Raffle tickets! If each child sells a minimum of five salmon, we will reach our school goal!

Winners of the Riffle Raffle will be chosen at the Sundial Bridge Festival on Saturday, October 25th.

You may get tickets to sell from your child’s teacher. Your child can sell as many tickets as he/she likes,

September: Habit 1 - Be Proactive

In our school, we believe that EVERY STUDENT is a leader in their own way, and it is our job to help your child thrive in that role. To hone our leadership skills, we are continuing to learn about the "7 Habits" that make us effective in our lives. For the month of September, we invite you to join us in practicing Habit 1: Be Proactive. This habit teaches us that while we can't control everything around us, we always have the power to choose our response. By focusing on what we can control - like our attitudes, words, and actions - we can help our children (and ourselves!) learn to take responsibility for choices and build a positive, productive school experience.

TK - Kinder Important Information TK - Kinder Important Information

TK/Kindergarten classroom doors will open at 8:13 AM.

  • If you are dropping your child off before 7:55 AM, please bring them to the Café, where staff will supervise until the playground opens. Two tables are reserved specifically for TK/Kinder students. At 7:50 AM, a staff member will escort the students to the playground.

  • If you arrive before the playground opens, you may:

    • Leave your child’s backpack by their classroom door, or

    • Bring your child to the Café and place their backpack along the stage.

  • If you arrive after 7:55 AM, your child may:

    • Leave their backpack by their classroom door, or

    • Bring it with them to the TK/Kinder playground and place it near their classroom sign.

After drop-off, we kindly ask that you say your goodbyes so students have space to play and settle in.

Please note that all TK/Kinder aides will begin supervising on the playground starting at 8:05 AM.

Parking Lot Reminders Parking Lot Reminders

  • Slow down - The school zone speed limit is 25 mph.

  • Do not park in front of anyone’s driveway. Do not move their property at the curb (i.e. trash and recycle bins) so you can park.

  • Do not double-park in the street to pick up your children.

  • We encourage you to enter the designated parking lot to pick up your child. Once dismissal time arrives, the traffic in the parking lot begins flowing nicely.

  • Please continue to move your vehicle forward if you are in the curb lanes.

  • Use caution as students may be in front, behind, or to the side of your vehicle at any time.

  • Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the curb lane.

  • If you must go into the building, please park in a parking place so our curb lane can continue to move forward.

  • Use crosswalks provided when crossing our parking lots and Springer Drive. All of our students are watching the actions of adults.

  • Most of all, be patient and kind. That is what we expect from all of our children, and they need to see that modeled by the adults on their team.

Grade-Level Start and End Times

We are happy to welcome our students on campus for breakfast as well as on the playground before the start of the school day this year. The earliest drop-off time is 7:30 a.m.

Regular Day - School Start/End Times:

  • 4-8 grades begin at 8:00 a.m. - 2:14 p.m.

  • TK-3 grades begin at 8:15 a.m. - 2:03 p.m.

Minimum Day - School Start Times:

  • 4-8 grades begin at 8:00 a.m. - 1:09 p.m.

  • TK-3 grades begin at 8:10 a.m. - 1:09 p.m.

Students will be released from class based upon the dismissal time. Students will be walked to a designated pick-up area (see below) and remain with their teacher/classmates. If they have a younger sibling(s), they should report to the designated pick-up area of their youngest sibling so parents don't have to visit both pick-up loops. Please coordinate this with your children.

To ensure the safety of all children, students must be picked up at their dismissal times. The school does not provide supervision for students after 2:20 p.m. on regular days and 1:20 p.m. on minimum days. Every Monday is a minimum day. If students are not picked up by the aforementioned times, they will be escorted to the office. Parents will then be required to go to the office to check students out. Remember this is to ensure your child’s safety, so please be prompt when picking up your child.

Assigned Parking Lots for Drop-off and Pick-up

This year, you will be assigned to a specific parking lot for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. It is extremely important that you stick to this because your child/children will be taken to this area after school. If you have multiple BC children, we do not want you to have to go from parking lot to parking lot, so you will be picking all of your children up together in one location.

This location is decided by the youngest child in the family. Older children in the family will need to find their youngest sibling at the pick-up location that is assigned to that sibling's grade level. For example, Kindergarten will be picked up in the front parking lot, so all older siblings of Kindergartners will report to the dismissal location to find their Kindergarten sibling's class at the front of the school and wait for their parents there together. We will be out to help older siblings find their pick-up point. This should only take a day or two to get into the routine of where to go.

Parking Lot Assignments by Grade-Level:

  • TK/K (and all older siblings) - Front Lot
  • 1 and 2 (and all older siblings) - Back Lot

  • 3 and 4 (and all older siblings) - Front Lot

  • 5 (and all older siblings) - Back Lot

  • 6-8 (and all older siblings) Front Lot

Please do not arrive earlier than your oldest child's release time (see above), as we want to be able to clear the parking lot quickly for each group. If you have multiple children who are released at both times, please find a parking space rather than waiting in the pick-up lane as this will block the lane from moving as you wait for your older child. Thank you for your cooperation.
