Dear Champion families,

As we celebrate the fourth quarter of our school year, we also celebrate the tremendous support we have experienced from our Chattahoochee Community. The participation in our Comprehensive Needs Assessment process, STEAM Night, Heritage Night and the fabulous production of Beauty and the Beast was outstanding. Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week treats were the tops and everyone truly felt like a Champion.

We hope everyone travels safely and enjoys time with family and friends over Spring Break. When we return, we will begin preparations for the final events and school activities of the 2025-26 school year. Continuing the long-standing routine, due to state testing (4/27-5/8) and other large events on campus, we will not have lunch visitors beginning April 27th for the remainder of the school year. We look forward to seeing our Field Day parent volunteers and all parents at the individual class parties.

Georgia Milestones testing will take place beginning April 27th through May 1st with make-up testing May 4-8. We ask your assistance with school attendance particularly arriving at school on-time (7:35) so that the testing sessions may begin promptly each morning. Parent visits and item drop-off will be suspended during this time (4/27-5/8).

Field Day is just around the corner. This year, we will be hosting Field Day as a one-day event (May 15th), with students in grades K–2 participating in the morning and students in grades 3–5 enjoying their activities in the afternoon. Planning the day in this way allows us to fully use all of our campus spaces, including the playground, fields, and gym, while also keeping the rest of the school day running smoothly for everyone. Our goal is to create a fun, active, and well-organized experience for all students.

We love having families involved in special events like this. To help us make the day run smoothly, we will be inviting parent volunteers to support activity stations during each session. Families will have an opportunity to sign up, and we are so grateful for those who are able to help. Because of space and parking limitations, we are not able to open Field Day to additional visitors this year. We truly wish we could welcome everyone and appreciate your understanding. Please know that we will be cheering your children on all day and making sure it is a memorable experience for them.

We appreciate all you do to support our Champion community and look forward to seeing you upon our return from Spring Break.

Sincerely,

Jill

Digital Citizenship Digital Citizenship

This month, our students are wrapping up their year-long journey with Neptune Navigate by reviewing what it means to be a Digital MVP. This final Digital Citizenship module synthesizes the essential habits of being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful in our digital world.

The Winning Playbook: Being a Digital MVP

Our students have learned that being a "Most Valuable Player" online involves three key strategies:

  • Be SAFE: This means protecting identities by creating strong passwords (12+ characters) and keeping them private. Students know to avoid online strangers and only use age-appropriate apps and games.

  • Be RESPONSIBLE: Students are practicing the 3 P's to protect their permanent digital footprint:

    • Privacy: Keeping personal info like full names and addresses private.

    • Positive: Using kind, encouraging, and thoughtful language.

    • Permission: Always asking a parent before downloading, signing up, or sharing.

  • Be RESPECTFUL: Being a good digital citizen means following the Golden Rule online. If students encounter cyberbullying, they are trained to be Upstanders and follow four simple steps: STOP, SHOW, BLOCK, and SHARE.

Continue the Conversation at Home

As we head into the summer months, use these questions to check in with your child and keep their digital skills sharp:

  1. What does it mean to be a Digital MVP?

  2. Which of the 3 P’s—Privacy, Positive, or Permission—is the most challenging for you to remember?

  3. If you saw someone being unkind in an online game, how could you be an Upstander?

  4. Why is it important to protect your digital footprint, even when you think a post is "deleted"?

By working together, we can ensure our students stay safe and wise online all year long! For more resources, visit neptunenavigate.com.

Absence Reminders

If your student is marked absent and you use our school QR code attendance form to indicate a medical excuse, please remember that the actual medical documentation must be submitted to the front office.

You may send the medical excuse in one of the following ways:

  • Email it directly to the front office (chattattendance@forsyth.k12.ga.us), or
  • Send it through your student’s teacher

This helps us ensure that all absences are properly documented and excused. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping us maintain accurate attendance records.
