Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up - 25.4.25
Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely, restful Easter break and that your children are looking forward to the summer term ahead. Although it's always an incredibly busy one, it's always my favourite term of the year.
Stars of the Week
EYFS / KS1 Stars of the Week
KS2 Stars of the Week
Attendance
This week's school attendance is 96.8%.
Whole school attendance so far this year is 95%.
Early Years/Key Stage 1 class of the week is Reception Base 1 with 100% attendance!
Key Stage 2 class of the week is 3B with 100% attendance - well done!
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system. Ultimately, more than 2 penalty notices could result in the council taking you to court and a criminal record. We really do not want any of our families to have to go through this.

School holiday Forest School days
The Easter holiday Forest School sessions were a great success and feedback has been really positive. A big thank you to Miss Taylor, Miss Coope, Mrs Marsh and Mr Renardson who gave up their own time voluntarily to run these days. As the days were so successful, we will be looking to running some in future holidays. Keep a look out for further information which will be coming very soon.
Nursery School Trip
This week Nursery enjoyed a fantastic school trip to Hesketh Farm near Bolton Abbey. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Hellos and Goodbyes
We are sad to announce that both Mrs Hooton (Year 6 teacher and Maths leader) and Mrs Matthews (HLTA) will be leaving Low Ash at the end of July after working at the school for many, many years! Mrs Matthews will be enjoying her well deserved retirement and Mrs Hooton is setting up her own business and venturing into the world of private tutoring. Both members of staff might still be seen at times around school though as have offered to cover classes when teachers are absent / help on trips etc. Both members of staff will be sorely missed.
We have recruited a new teacher - Miss Iqra Bibi- who will be joining us in September. We look forward to welcoming her to Low Ash.
School fundraising - pupil sponsored walk and staff challenge
We hope you have seen the ping about the children's sponsored walk which will take place at school, week commencing 19th May. There was much excitement in assembly when the children were told about this event. Some pupils have even said they might ty to cartwheel the distance!
The children's sponsored event will go alongside the staff challenge of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks taking place on 17th May. We've still got a long way to go to reach our target! Please support us if you can. All money raised will go to school to enhance our provision for the pupils further.
"Easyfundraising" for school
A reminder to set up "Easyfundraising" on your mobile device if you have not already done so. "Easyfundraising" partners with over 8,000 brands who will donate part of what you spend to a cause of your choice (in this case, school!). It won't cost you any extra. The cost is covered by the brand.
If you make an online purchase, a commission is generated, and they turn that into a donation.
It might sound complicated but if you scan the QR code below and then follow the step by step instructions, it is really easy to set up. I trialled it last night and, although I am not the best with IT, I managed it!
This site gives more detail about how it works, but scanning the QR code is the way to set it up.
Online Safety - Making Friends Online
This week's online safety update and advice is about making friends online. The realities of the modern world is that many children do make friends online and, hopefully, this guide will provide advice which will help your children do this safely.
We hope you all have a good weekend and we will see you on Monday.
