Growing Something Great at BMS π³
Bettendorf Middle School science students took their learning outdoors, planting 20 new trees along the schoolβs bus lanes and practice fields.
The hands-on project gave students an opportunity to learn about trees and their role in the environment while making a lasting impact on the BMS campus. As the trees grow, theyβll provide beauty, shade and environmental benefits for years to come.
Way to grow, Bulldogs! π±πΎ

ππΎ π¬ A Special #BettPride Moment! - Oct. 5
Two years ago, Bettendorf student Adrian Gillette, now a 9th grader, created the National History Day documentary FREADOM on Trial: Rights and Responsibilities in Island Trees Board of Education v. Pico.
Adrianβs documentary earned third place at the National History Day national contest in Washington, D.C. and has since been screened several times locally.
Now, Adrianβs work will be featured at the Bettendorf Public Library on Monday, where his documentary will be screened before a presentation by Stephen Pico, the subject of Adrianβs documentary.
The event is free and open to the public and is being held in recognition of Banned Books Week and the freedom to read. π
Weβre incredibly proud to see Adrianβs work continue to educate and engage our community. We hope youβll join him for this special event!
