Dear Calhoun Early Childhood School Families,

Thank you so much for joining in my Boss’s Day celebration yesterday! I’m still smiling about it. I was honestly surprised we didn’t get any noise complaints from our neighborhood families with all that honkingβ€”but it was absolutely worth it! I felt so loved, and I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. It truly filled my heart. πŸ’™

At Calhoun, one of our top priorities is promoting positive behavior supports, and we want to extend that same mindset to our carpool line. We saw a short burst of success after asking families to arrive between 7:00–7:15 a.m., but recently, we’ve noticed more cars pulling in closer to the 7:30 a.m. cutoff.

To help bring back the excitement and celebrate those doing it right, we’re launching a new initiative: Ranger Roll Call! πŸŽ‰

We will periodically spotlight families who are rocking their early morning arrivals. They’ll share their best tips and routines to help everyone enjoy a smoother, stress-free start to the day.

Check out our first Ranger Roll Call video belowβ€”we can’t wait for you to see it!

Warmly,

Sara Anderson

βœ… Reminders βœ… Reminders

πŸ•’ Please remember that while our school time starts at 7:30am, we are outside and greeting kids starting at 7:00am. We have had very few cars arriving between 7:00am-7:20am. If you wait until the last minute to bring your child in the carpool line, you run the risk of arriving tardy. Please make sure to plan ahead and utilize the line before 7:15am. You will get in and out with no wait!

⏰ For safety and efficiency, students will not be released after 2:00pm. Please plan ahead for appointments or other time commitments to ensure your child is picked up before this time.

πŸš— Please remember that we run two car lines at the same time:

From the North: Turn left into the left lane of the parking lot. This lane is for Piney Woods, Gulf Coast, and South Plains.

From the South: Turn right into the parking lot and use the right lane, which wraps around to the back of the building. This lane is for Big Bend, Hill Country, and Panhandle.

πŸ“΅Please enter the parking lot with caution and avoid using your phone while driving. As you turn in, use your blinker to signal. This helps us clearly distinguish Calhoun families from neighborhood traffic and ensures a smoother, safer arrival for everyone.

State-Mandated Hearing & Vision Screenings – October 29 & 30

As required by Texas state law, Health Services will be conducting hearing and vision screenings for all students at Calhoun ECS on October 29th and 30th. Screenings will be performed by trained Health Services staff during the school day. These screenings are an important part of identifying any potential issues that may affect your child’s learning. If your child wears glasses or hearing aids, please ensure they bring them to school on these days.

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.
