Good Morning Memorial Families,
We finally had a beautiful fall weekend. Though the sun was not on full display, it was at least dry and allowed for some fun fall outdoor activities. Thank you to our PTO for hosting another amazing Spooktacular on Friday night. As you can see above, it was busy and children from Upton and beyond had the best time.
Weather permitting, we will hold our Halloween Parade on October 31st at 9:20am. If it rains, we will cancel the event. If you plan to attend, please do not arrive prior to 9:10am. Our students will parade around the building on the sidewalk, so parents who wish to watch should find a place in the driveway around the school. Please do not park in a place that blocks a fire lane, and if you can carpool, it will help us with our tricky parking situation.
Parents of current fourth graders should be on the lookout for their individual student MCAS report. We plan to mail these home on Tuesday, so I would expect they will begin arriving in mailboxes on Wednesday or Thursday. We use the results of the MCAS to help us determine what areas we may need to place a focus on instructionally at our school. We are happy to discuss your child’s results with you if you have any questions or concerns. With parent/teacher conferences approaching, that would be a good venue to discuss your child’s progress.
Please note that Parent/Teacher conferences are occurring a week early this year, on November 1st and 2nd. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to schedule these if he/she has not already, and should you wish to conference with another faculty member that works with your child, they will be available on those days as well. Additionally, should you wish to meet with either Lauren or myself on those days, please let us know. We would be happy to schedule a conference with you.
