Students will need to scan their ID, PPO, or phone pouch when getting lunch. A new system will be going into effect in our cafeteria starting Monday the 17th and students will be asked to scan their IDs or ID stickers when checking out at the lunch line. Students will only be able to get one lunch but can purchase additional items.
Our School Experience Survey is now available
Our annual School Experience is not available for families to complete. We ask that you agree or disagree with any of the questions. Parents may skip questions that they may not be able to answer. The middle choice of ''neither agree nor disagree" does not give us much information so please choose the agree or disagree option if possible, to give us a clear picture of your experience. Many families have already completed the survey and you only have to complete the survey once, even if you have more than one student in LAUSD. Students are asked to bring a screenshot of the completion message to their advisory teacher to let them know their parent or guardian has completed the survey. SES link

Plant a Seed of Kindness event at lunch
In Honor of Kindess Day OV had an event on the Olive Bowl for students to be reminded of being kind and finding alternative ways to cope with frustration. Students were able to participate in a coping skills football toss, make a kindness lollipop flower, and plant a seed of kindness in a container to keep and care for at home.
Student Led Conferences took place on Thursday
Many thanks to the close to 500 families that braved the rainy weather to join us for student led conferences where students were able to speak on behalf of themselves to share what they have learned and what they can do to improve. Through these conferences, we help students develop a growth mindset and develop the skills to advocate for themselves. Students with families unable to attend will be assigned the task to take home the materials and review them at home with an adult and return the reflection page to their advisory teacher.
Important changes to be aware of:
