Musical Theatre District Solo and Ensemble Festival

We’re proud to share that Emilia Parker received a Division 1 rating at the Musical Theatre District Solo and Ensemble Festival held last Saturday at Oxford High School. Her outstanding performance earned her a score high enough to qualify for the State Musical Theatre Festival!

Make sure to purchase your ticket(s) to see White Christmas, where you'll find Emilia sharing her God given talent!

Dress Code Reminder

As the weather turns colder, please ensure students come to school dressed warmly while still following our dress code. At LCS, our dress reflects our commitment to honor God, show modesty, and maintain a respectful, focused learning environment (1 Cor. 10:31). Students are expected to wear clothing that is modest, in good repair, and appropriate for school activities. Our Elementary and Middle School students are required to wear LCS tops, khaki or navy bottoms, and modest dresses or skirts. As of November 1st, shorts are no longer allowed. Chapel and special days require more formal attire for all students. Clothing depicting alcohol, tobacco, offensive language, divisive messages, or drawing negative attention is not allowed.

Parents, please continue partnering with us in guiding students to make respectful choices in dress and grooming. For more details, visit the Dress Code Guidelines in the handbook.

Christmas Chapel

Join us for a special time of worship and celebration at our Christmas Chapel on December 12 at 8:00a in the Centre Auditorium. This year’s theme, “Light in the Darkness,” is inspired by John 1 and Isaiah 9:2, reminding us of the hope and light that Christ brings into the world.

This meaningful chapel will be 90 percent student-led, featuring a powerful skit, heartfelt worship, a student message, and a clear Gospel presentation. It’s a beautiful opportunity to pause in the midst of the season, reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, and celebrate together as a school family.

LCS Family Referral Credit

Did you know LCS offers a $500 tuition credit to any family who refers a new family to our school? It’s a simple way to share the gift of a Christian education, while also blessing your own family.

This year, more than 5 families have already received this credit, and you could too! If you know a family who would be a great fit for LCS, invite them to connect with our Admissions Team to learn more.

An LCS education means our children are growing not just academically, but in their faith-and that’s why I tell other families about it. LCS is more than just a school to us, it’s about raising our kids with Christ at the center; that’s why we love the school, and we want others to experience that as well.

Book Fair - December 1-5

Get ready for the Book Fair, Monday, December 1 through Friday, December 5. It will be open daily from 7:45a to 4:00p. Each class will have a scheduled time to shop, and students will also have the opportunity to browse and create wish lists during their library time that week.

The Book Fair will feature a wide variety of books and gifts, including specially requested popular authors and titles. It’s a wonderful way to encourage reading and stock up on Christmas gifts at the same time!

Cold Weather Attire

As winter creeps closer and closer, please be sure your child comes to school with wardrobe to keep them warm for outdoor recess. Coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and boots are important to keep students comfortable and safe during chilly playtime.

We appreciate your help in keeping them bundled up and ready to enjoy the winter fun!

Elementary Chapel Update

Mrs. McEldowney recently reflected on Matthew 20:26: “Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” She reminded students that, as leaders, our focus should be on serving others rather than seeking to be served.

During the discussion, we explored the purpose behind Community Service Day:

  • To glorify God through acts of service

  • To share our God given talents with others

  • To provide opportunities to share Jesus in meaningful ways

Through serving others, our students not only make a difference in the community but also grow in faith and Christlike leadership.

Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

Student Council is excited to announce our Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive from November 17–24, with the final collection day on Monday, November 24.

This year, we’re focusing on recognizing the many blessings our students have, and encouraging them to give back to those in our community who may be facing greater needs. The drive will be run as a grade level competition, with a small incentive for the winners. Students may donate any type of canned good - such as soup, vegetables, fruit, etc.

Thank you for your support in helping our students serve the community during this season of gratitude.

Attn Seniors

Please note that The Centre Café will be closed December 8-12 for light remodeling. During this time, the Café will not be available for lunch. Please plan ahead by bringing a packed lunch or arranging alternative options for those days.

Secondary Chapel Update

Yesterday in chapel, Pastor Bryce Johnson from Bethany Assembly shared a powerful message from Luke 19 about Jesus and Zacchaeus. He highlighted the three main characters in the story, Jesus, Zacchaeus, and the crowd, and showed how each one responds differently to Jesus’ invitation. One of the key moments was his reminder from Dallas Willard: “Grace is not opposed to effort; it’s opposed to earning.”

Pastor Bryce challenged us to put real effort into what matters most: our relationship with God, our relationships with others, and the way we live out the love Jesus shows. His message reminded us that Jesus meets us where we are, but He doesn’t leave us there, growth happens when we put in the effort to walk with Him.

NHS Induction

The National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 7:00p in the Merillat Room. We invite students, families, and community members to join us as we celebrate scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

We are pleased to welcome back our returning NHS members: Zyan Breznik, Andrew Jameson, Parker Sharpe, Wyatt Sanford, Daniel Scrupsky, Samantha Shane, and Mackenzie Tober.

And a huge congratulations to our new inductees: Hannah Acuna-Holloway, Grace Adkins, Pierson Cousino, Brynn Davis, Ryan Jones, Benjamin Lukas, and Emilia Parker.

We look forward to honoring these outstanding students at this special evening event!

LISD Transition Fair

Connect with resources to plan for post-graduation opportunities. Representatives from over 10 organizations will be in attendance on Thursday, December 11 from 5:30p-7:30p at LISD TECH Center in the Central Classrooms.
