LASL November2024 Newsletter#WeNeedYou

Louisiana School Librarians,

We are so excited that the call for session proposals and registration for our LASL PD Day on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Epsicopal School of Baton Rouge are now open! See the links below to sign up. This is a day of professional development for school librarians by school librarians -- which means we need you to share the great things you're doing in your school by submitting a session proposal! This is such a great way to connect with other school librarians, so we hope you will consider presenting. Even if you don't feel ready to present, we hope you are ready to learn and that we will see you in February!

If you need support and resources at a local level, please contact us at geauxlasl@gmail.com.

We know that many of you are trying to get a handle on the changing evaluation system being used in Louisiana public schools this year. LASL would like to support school librarians by sharing feedback with LEADS during this pilot year for the new rubric.

Sample Library Lesson Plan for Observation
Check out this lesson plan used by LASL President Kristy Barker for her observation last year. Using this plan, she was able to score 3-5 on all indicators.
