Hughes STEM Family Update
August 26th, 2024

Principal Message
Dear Hughes STEM Families,
We are honored that you have chosen Hughes STEM High School for your child’s education, and we are fully prepared to serve and support our students throughout the school year. Your partnership is essential to our success, and we encourage you to stay actively connected with our school community.
To keep up with important updates and announcements, please regularly check our announcement slide, accessible on our school website. For direct communication with our staff, you can reach out via email through the contact information provided on our website. Additionally, our school calendar is regularly updated with key dates and events—be sure to check it frequently to stay informed about upcoming activities.
We also invite you to get involved by joining our Parent Student Association. Your participation is invaluable in fostering a strong, supportive community. We need your support to enhance our school environment and ensure a rewarding experience for all students. As we often say, your involvement is part of #TheBigRedWay.
A reminder for our students: please instruct your child to avoid going to the business district after school hours. Additionally, students should arrive at school no later than 7:45 a.m. to ensure they are on time for the start of classes. Our security check-in process takes approximately 5-7 minutes, so arriving at 8:00 a.m. will result in being marked tardy. Timely arrival is crucial for a smooth start to the school day and to maximize learning opportunities.
Thank you for your cooperation and support. We look forward to a successful and enriching year ahead with your continued partnership.
Warm regards,
Dr. Jenn Williams
Principal, Hughes STEM High School

Mental Health Partnership
Our partnership with BestPoint will be ending this year. We have enjoyed working with BestPoint and wish to thank all the staff for their dedication to the Hughes STEM HS students.
Best Point will be working with students in treatment, their families, and our staff to make a plan for each student's care until a new partnership in on-board. Our goal is to make this a smooth transition for the students, their families and the staff.
Our partner, MindPeace, will be doing a needs assessment and facilitating the process of choosing a new mental health partner as quickly as possible.
