International Night 2026
Dear Boone Meadow Families -
Wow! It’s been another action-packed week at BME—and the excitement isn’t slowing down as we head into the weekend.
We hosted our annual International Night, and once again it was an incredible evening of community, connection, and celebration. Families came together to share food, music, traditions, and stories that reflect the many cultures that make our school and neighborhoods so special. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, performed, volunteered, or simply came out to enjoy the evening. Your engagement is what makes this event so meaningful, and we are truly grateful.
The momentum continues tomorrow (Saturday, 3/14) as several of our BME students take part in exciting competitions across the Indianapolis area.
-
Logan Bradley will represent BME at the Regional Science Fair at Marian University.
-
Our 7711M Robotics Team—Reyva Ribeka, Aidan Mulder, Colton Ray, and Srikar Veeravalli—will compete at the State Robotics Competition at Lucas Oil Stadium.
What incredible opportunities for these young innovators and problem-solvers! We’re so proud of the curiosity, dedication, and teamwork they’ve shown. Best of luck to Logan and Team 7711M as they do big things this weekend—we’ll be cheering them on!

First & Third Grade Music Programs (Monday, March 16th)
The first grade “Music Is Reading” program is coming up this Monday at 5:30 PM in the Boone Meadow gym. Students will be singing, moving, and playing instruments as we bring favorite books to life through music. Because this program is designed to inspire a love of reading while giving every first grader their own time to shine, each class will perform some books while enjoying others as part of the audience. The goal is for the whole evening to feel like a shared celebration of music, stories, and learning, and we hope to see you there!
3rd Grade Recorder Showcase
Our Third Grade Recorder Showcase is coming up this Monday at 7:15 PM in the Boone Meadow gym. Students are excited to share the music they’ve been learning on the recorder and to celebrate how much they’ve grown as musicians this year. We think you’ll be absolutely blown away, and we hope you can join us!
Kindergarten Round Up Is Coming!
Kindergarten Round Up will be hosted at each ZCS elementary school on Tuesday, March 24! This is an exciting opportunity for families with incoming Kindergarteners to learn more about our schools and the year ahead. Pre-registration is required and now open for families, so be sure to keep your eyes open for updates coming your way. Know a family with a future Kindergartener? Tell your neighbors!
Shannon Anderson - Author Visit on March 20th
We are excited to welcome award-winning children’s author Shannon Anderson to BME on March 20th!
Shannon is a former elementary teacher of 26 years who now travels the country sharing her love of reading, writing, and goal-setting with students. She is known for her high energy, heart, and humor — and for inspiring young people to discover their strengths and chase their goals. One of her books, I LOVE Strawberries!, was even featured on Bedtime Stories with Ryan, where Ryan Reynolds read it to children around the world! https://www.shannonisteaching.com/
During her visit, Shannon will lead engaging sessions designed to spark creativity, ignite curiosity, and encourage students to believe in their own possibilities.
Book Order Information: A hard copy order form and Parent Square message were shared this past week. Families may pre-order books through March 18th, and Shannon will personally autograph all pre-ordered copies.
We look forward to an inspiring day of stories, laughter, and learning!

March Lifeline: Perseverance
"I persist toward my goals despite obstacles, discouragements, or disappointments."
What is Perseverance?
Perseverance means not giving up. It is sticking with something even when it feels hard. It means working hard, finishing what you start, and trying again when you face challenges. When we persevere, we feel proud of ourselves for completing a goal. Perseverance helps us grow stronger and more confident each time we keep going.
Simple Way to Say It to Kids: Perseverance is when you keep trying, even when something is difficult.

Lunch Guests & Reservations
Lunch Guests
We are ready to welcome lunch guests! Students and their guests will have lunch at designated locations in the front lobby area. Please no more than 2 guests per student due to limited space. So that others may have the opportunity, we ask that you not sign up more than 1 time per month. As we implement this new system/procedure, we will limit availability the first two weeks to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday visits.
Here's how it works:
- Sign up for a reservation in advance using this link: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/BMELunchSchedule@zcsk12in.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/ When you sign up, please be certain to complete all fields requested.
- Bring a photo ID and arrive 5 minutes early (lunch times are listed on the signup form link above).
- Your child will meet you in the front office area when they are ready.
- HAVE FUN!
Visitors and Volunteers
During the school day, all volunteers are expected to check in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer's first volunteer experience, the individual must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check.. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days before the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state-mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee for the full background check which will expire after 5 years.
During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.
