š Principal News š
Thank you for supporting our Scotty Pās Spirit Night. Your school pride always shines through, and we appreciate every opportunity you take to uplift our Red Hawk community.
Itās hard to believe weāre already midway through Quarter 2 of this school year. Progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday. If you have any questions about your childās progress, please reach out to their teacher for ways you can support your scholar at home.
We would love for you to join your Red Hawk for a special Friendsgiving during their grade level lunch this Thursday. Sharing this moment of gratitude and fellowship makes the season even more meaningful for our students.
We are also continuing to collect green beans and corn for McKinney High Schoolās McTown Heroes Canned Food Drive. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to show kindness and give back during the holiday season.
Wishing your family a beautiful week filled with gratitude and connection.
Proud to be a Red Hawk,
Inetra Nelson, Principal & Melinna Herrera, Assistant Principal

Now that cooler weather has finally hit, our Lost and Found is running over with coats! Please ask your child to check our Lost and Found container located outside of the cafeteria for anything that belongs to them. Any items left after December 19th will be donated over the winter break.
Morning Drop-Off Reminder
Parents, if your child arrives before 7:40 a.m., please take a moment to remind them about staying safe while they wait for the building to open. We want every morning to start off safely and smoothly for all our students.
Children should stay near the front entry and avoid running, playing chase, or standing near the driveway. They should also keep their hands to themselves and be mindful of others around them.
Thank you for helping us create a calm and safe start to the day for everyone!

At Malvern, student well-being is a top priority. Throughout the year, our counselor provides age-appropriate lessons that help students recognize ābigā feelings, identify trusted adults, and practice coping strategies. Each elementary campus also displays the required āYou Are Not Aloneā poster so students know support is always available.
Our approach to suicide prevention focuses on helping students:
- Manage their emotions
- Understand that tough moments are temporary
- Notice when someone may need help
- Know who they can trust
- Use healthy coping skills
- Find support when they need it

Visitors and Volunteers
MISD requires every visitor/volunteer to report to the office to sign in and receive a visitor badge. At the camera outside of the school, please state your name, show your ID, and explain why you are here at school.
A software system called āHallpass School Visitor Managementā is used to scan in visitors. A valid, unexpired state or government issued photo ID must be presented each time you visit, volunteer, or pick up a student. If you arrive on campus without your driverās license, you will be asked to leave and return to campus when you have identification. A photocopy of your ID will not be accepted.
MISD requires that volunteers complete a criminal background check every school year. If you plan to volunteer anywhere in the building or chaperone a field trip, please complete the required volunteer application.
MISD will not offer a grace period this school year for you to complete your annual background check. All background checks must be completed and approved before you can serve on campus.
