I want to start by giving a huge shout out to our Boggess faculty. We have 100% faculty membership in our PTA. One hundred percent! Thank you, faculty, for your support of PTA and all that you do for our students! Congratulations to our Membership VP Simi Sandhu for running such a successful membership drive.

December is going to be an exciting month! We are full steam ahead for Family STEAM Night this Thursday, and we hope to see all our Boggess families there for science and engineering fun.

Boggess PTA is also getting ready for class parties to end the year. We are looking for volunteers and donations to make these celebrations great. Read below for ways you can help. Thanks, as always, for your support!

WHAT: STEAM Night celebrates all things Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Come out and enjoy hands-on learning activities and games. We promise you lots of WOWs for the whole family! Guest hosts include Texas Chess Center, Wize Computing Academy, Women in STEM of Williams High School, and local artist Steve Uriegas.

WHEN: Thursday, December 8, 6:00-7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Boggess Gym

WHEN: Thursday, December 15, 1:45-2:30 p.m.

WHAT: Boggess PTA is excited to end this semester with a party for our students! Our fantastic room parents will have activities set up to keep the students moving and having fun. Students will eat a yummy snack and create a fun craft to take home. If your student has a special dietary restriction, please feel free to send a specific snack for them.

DONATIONS NEEDED! We need your help to make this party a big success! Sign up here to donate something off our list. Have your student bring your donation to their classrooms December 12-14. We appreciate each and every parent's contribution!

PARENTS WELCOME! Parents can attend the Winter Party but must sign up by December 9 so a badge can be pre-printed for you. Please use this Google form to let us know you will be attending.

WHAT: The Texas Chess Center is partnering with Boggess PTA for the Boggess Chess Program in the spring semester. The program is designed for bright new beginners, grades K-5, to learn the fundamentals of the game from one of the top coaches in DFW. The class will have 25-30 minutes of learning, followed by 30 minutes of supervised play. Students will learn fundamental chess strategies and tactics, challenging their minds and giving them the confidence to succeed!

WHEN: Every Wednesday, January 11 - March 1, 2:45-3:50 p.m.

COST: $128 per student or $245 for siblings

VOLUNTEERS: We need 2-3 parent volunteers to help with the program. Volunteers will get one student's tuition waived! To volunteer, contact programs@boggesspta.org before enrolling.

Last year, PTA parents stepped up to equip our classrooms with air purifiers. Now those purifiers need new air filters to give our classrooms an extra layer of protection this winter. Our goal is to have at least two purifiers up and running in each classroom at all times.

Show us how far your Bengal spirit goes! Are you traveling over Winter Break? Or do you have an exciting local adventure planned? Take a photo of your student wearing their Boggess grade level shirt or spirit wear outside of school, or show us where your Benny plush has been. We want to see all the interesting places your spirit shines!

Post the photo in your Facebook grade group or send to post@boggesspta.org with your student's name, grade, and the location of the photo. We will share photos in an upcoming newsletter.

We had a crew of volunteers step up to help reshelve books and assist Ms. Brandenberg in the library. Thanks to every volunteer who answered the call, and special thanks to Amy Mitchell who logged many hours.
