Randall Family Weekly Update - Week 1
๐๐ฅ๐Welcome Back๐๐ฅ๐
Dear Randall Families,
Thank you for sending the most amazing children back to our school; this first week has been nothing short of outstanding. Students reunited with friends, quickly fell back into routines and demonstrated all of the positive attributes in the learning environment that we expect. I truly wish all parents could experience the energy in the building throughout the school day, it is something special that is unique to Randall and doesn't happen by accident.
With students back in the building, we couldn't miss the opportunity to ask what they were most excited about or what their favorite part was about the first week of school. Here are a few student responses:
"The best thing about the first week is meeting the new teachers, the food is pretty good and the renovations look great!" - Zach in 8th Grade
"Softball and Mrs. Traut" - Sarah & Ellie in 7th Grade
"Getting to see my friends!" - Kasey in 6th Grade
"My favorite thing about the first week of school is the library, Mrs. Hebron is the best" - Drax in 4th Grade
"Everything! My Teachers, my friends, organizing and coming back to school" - Emmie & Charlotte in Third Grade
"Doing projects and having fun. Also, making Art!" - Tai in Second Grade
"Eating, recess and seeing my friends" - Jaxson in 1st Grade
"Playing outside and my teacher" - Alayla in Kindergarten
"I like seeing the 5th graders transition into being 6th graders, it's fun to see them work with the Middle School staff and see them come out of their shell, you can see their growth!" - Mrs. Kroening, Instructional Assistant
I wish all of our Randall families a beautiful Labor Day weekend and we will see our Wildcats back at school on Tuesday, September 8th.
Thank you,
Ms. Garcia

Transportation, Drop Off & Pick Up
If there are any changes to your family's transportation plans for the school year that we need to know about, please call the Main Office to inform us about the changes. Clear communication will ensure we are all on the same page working together. Transportation changes could include, "we are no longer taking the bus home after school, our child will now be pick up" or, "Our child can only be picked up by Parent 1 on Mondays and Parent 2 on Tuesdays".

Updated Fidget Guidelines for the 2026-27 School Year
As we approach the upcoming 2026-27 school year, weโd like to clarify the difference between fidgets used as toys and sensory tools used to help students focus at school. Specifically, I want to make you aware of an update to our classroom expectations for fidgets (sensory tools for focus).
Toward the end of the last school year (2025-26), fidget use/play had increased to the point that it began to interfere with learning in our classrooms. In particular, fidgets with liquid, gel, sand, putty or other messy materials caused spills, damage to school property, and distractions during instruction. Items that are primarily toys - such as Needos, pop-its, squishy objects (butter stick squishies) or characters, spinning toys, trading cards, or anything intended for entertainment - became distractions in the classroom. These items must remain at home for all students in all grade levels.
Because of this, we are putting clearer guidelines in place for classroom fidgets. We will review these expectations with students throughout the first week of school, and teachers and staff will begin enforcing them throughout the second week of school. We would appreciate your support in reviewing these expectations with your child(ren) and encouraging them to keep personal fidgets at home. If a student needs a fidget to help with focus, the school has a variety of options available that meet our guidelines.
Classroom fidget guidelines:
Fidgets are tools for focus, not toys.
Fidgets must be kept below or on the desk.
Fidgets must be small and silent, no clicking, popping, or rolling
No liquid, sand, putty, or gel-filled fidgets are allowed, unless they fit in the palm of your hand.
Teachers may remove a fidget at any time if it becomes a distraction
Our goal is to keep classrooms focused, safe, and free from unnecessary disruptions while still allowing students to use appropriate tools that support attention to learning.
If you need a resource or talking point with your student, here is a link to a video describing the use of fidgets as tools to support attention: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95w8OL0EYBU
If you have any questions about school appropriate fidgets, please ask before the start of the school year. Thank you for your support and partnership!

Speak Up Speak Out Program for Randall
Randall School is pleased to announce the launch of the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT confidential tipline as part of our school safety efforts. Tiplines are used to identify threats to schools, and for concerns impacting school age youth such as bullying, drug use, suicidal thoughts and more. Schools that promote and use tiplines have less violence overall. The SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT (SUSO) tipline is run by the Wisconsin Department of Justiceโs Office of School Safety. Parents and students, this tool is available for anyone to use to help keep the Randall Community safe!
Randall students will engage in learning about how to advocate for their own (and others') safety and well-being over the next month in partnership with our counselor, Mrs. Roth, as well as other members of our student services team. We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of communicating when/if they feel that their safety may be compromised.

Thank you in advance for all of your support!
