- It's time for our annual PTSO Outreach Drive! The PTSO Outreach Committee works with FHS and ALLPS school counselors and social workers to provide in-school access to clothing and basic necessities. Our committee maintains and restocks the FHS Outreach Closet, but the closet is regularly low on some key items. We need your help to keep it stocked.
Your gift, no matter how large or small, makes all the difference to a student in need! Here are the ways you can support our students today:
1. Our Amazon Wishlist (ships directly to FHS!)
2. Our GoFundMe (allows us to purchase needed items for FHS/ALLPS students)
3. Donate gently used items to the purple wagon in Purple Office - Fayetteville High School PTSO needs your help! We are facing many new challenges this year funding our programs. By joining the PTSO or making a cash or Venmo donation, you will directly fund:
Outreach
Staff Grants
Student Scholarships
Support Project Graduation
Support Glass Slipper/ Black Tie
Staff Meals
We CANNOT be successful without your support. Thank you for your generosity and continued support of FHS and ALLPS. We look forward to working together to make this school year the best it can be! Information on joining FHS PTSO can be found HERE.

Important Parent Information
Attendance Procedures for 2026-2027 School Year
Fayetteville High School has updated its attendance procedures for the 2026–2027 school year. We encourage all students and parents to review these changes carefully, as they include important information regarding excused absences, attendance interventions, and the impact of unexcused absences on course credit and student privileges to include denial of credit. Please take a few minutes to review the updated attendance information HERE.

Weapons Detection System
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. As we begin our second year using the Weapons Detection System (WDS), we appreciate the cooperation of our students and families in helping the process run smoothly.
The WDS remains an important part of our comprehensive school safety plan. Students will continue to enter through designated screening entrances each morning. To help expedite the process, students should carry their school-issued Chromebook separately and avoid bringing unnecessary metal items that may trigger additional screening.
What Parents and Students Should Know:
The process will be conducted with respect for student privacy and dignity.
Trained staff will be present to support a smooth and respectful screening process.
Students will be taught expectations when school begins.
The use of metal detectors is not in response to any specific threat, but rather part of a broader effort to strengthen school safety.
Bus Transportation
If your child signed up to ride the bus, you will receive correspondence from the Transportation Department. If you have not previously signed your child up for transportation, contact FHS at 479.444.3050. It will take up to two weeks from the time you enroll in transportation for you to receive an assignment.
Students riding buses to and from Fayetteville High School will be dropped off and picked up in the bus loading zone, located in front of the school campus. Students will need their student ID card to enter and exit the bus.Check-Out Procedure
Students may leave campus only after checking out through one of the administrative offices. These offices will confirm parental permission for the student to leave. Students who fail to check out of school correctly are considered absent even if they have their parent’s permission because school personnel are responsible for students during the school day. PLEASE NOTE: No phone calls into classrooms will be made after 3:45 pm to check out students due to the disruption it causes to the educational environment. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) must call the school in advance to check out their child from school.
Student Parking
Parking Enforcement
Any citation received must be paid within 10 business days. Failure to pay this fine within 10 business days WILL result in parking privileges being revoked. Cars that are parked illegally on campus may also be towed at the owner’s expense. Review the consequences below:
Grades and Attendance - Home Access Center(HAC)
Excused Absences
“Excused” absences occur when (a) the student is on official school business, or (b) the student’s absence is due to one of the documented reasons listed in school policy 5.07 and the student’s parent or guardian reports an acceptable reason for the absence. A parent or guardian’s report of an excused absence must be provided to the school within five (5) school days after the student absence occurs.
NOTE: A maximum of five (5) days for health reasons are allowed per semester unless the condition causing such absences is of a chronic or recurring nature, is medically documented.
Student Dress Code
This dress code is established to comply with Arkansas law, prevent disruptions, minimize safety hazards, and help establish a positive school culture. While this dress code applies to all students in the district, please note that some distinctions are made between age groups. FPS dress code can be reviewed HERE.
