BWMS Community,
Next week begins OSTs. Students will visit their testing site location on Tuesday 4/16 for the last 10 minutes of school to review testing procedures and SOAR in Testing expectations (see below). Also, please remind your student of the importance of coming to school on testing days with Chromebooks charged and a possible book to read after testing.

Purple Up Big Walnut Spirit Week
I am looking forward to next week as our school shows support for our Military-Connected families district wide. Looking forward to seeing the efforts of the District Purple Star committee and Ms. Donohue come to life at BWMS!
BWMS School Recognitions
BWMS was also notified of two state recognitions for our continued efforts for both staff and students. First, BWMS was identified as a Purple STAR School for the work to support military-connected families. Special thanks to our staff leaders - Mr. Cox and Ms. Donohue.
Also, BWMS was recognized for our Overall 5-STAR Rating from the 2023 State Report Card. This is a reflection of the time, energy and efforts of all of our staff and students. Great Job BWMS!

Important Updates
- Attention students, we want to remind you that all surveys have to be approved by a staff member.
- BWMS School Counselor Mr. Watson and Officer Whiteside will be presenting to classes about online enticement, harassment and social media safety in the coming weeks. Please see the informational opt out form which is going home with students after break.
- Today Friday 4/12/24 is grade update day for the 4th quarter.
- Ohio Military Sprit Week begins on Monday 4/15/24. See details below.
- There will be an information meeting for share details about an EF Educational Tour to lead an extended learning opportunity to Costa Rica in 2025 during Spring Break. This opportunity is for students currently in 8th-11th grades and has already been board approved! The informational meeting will be next Thursday 4/18/24 at 7:00 at the Middle School. - Ohio State Tests will begin on Wednesday 4/17/24. See additional details below.
- Language Arts OSTs are Wednesday 4/17/24 and Thursday 4/18/24. More details below.
- BWMS will host the Scholastic Book Fair during the week of 4/22/24.
- Incoming 6th & 7th grade students will visit BWMS on Friday 4/26/24 during the school day.
BWMS Community,
Ohio State Tests begin shortly after we return from Spring Breaks. Testing time can be stressful for students. No doubt, we understand that our students do deal with pressure when it comes to all types of performances from their everyday life: athletic or academic. No matter the situation, everyone can play a role in helping our students be confident and secure in the face of the upcoming weeks. We will continue to offer this calm voice of confidence for our students as they prepare for next week. You too can help by ensuring your student gets a good night's sleep, eats a good breakfast, charges their Chromebook and comes to BWMS with a smile. I am sure our kids will do great!
The testing schedule is below as OSTs will be in the morning followed by a modified 2 hour delay schedule for all classes.
