Notification: Upcoming ELC/PC Evacuation Practice

Dear K-2 Families,

I want to inform you about an upcoming fire evacuation practice scheduled for Tuesday, December 10. As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, these drills are an important part of our preparedness efforts. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all of our students, and your continued support in preparing them for this practice is deeply appreciated. After the evacuation practice, classroom teachers will debrief with their students to process the experience, answer questions, and discuss any feelings that may have arisen during the drill. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or Katie Hardyman, K-2 Dean of Students.

Thank you for your support and partnership as we continue to work to ensure our school is a safe place for everyone.

Kindly,

Rachael Johnson

K-2 Principal

Lice Check Reminder

  • Please read this article to learn how to check for lice/nits and what to do if you find lice/nits. If you find live lice, your student will need to be treated and removal of live lice must be completed prior to returning to school.

  • There are over-the-counter and prescription treatments.

For more generalized information about head lice, the CDC is a great resource. The Mount Horeb head lice policy can be found here.

Thank you,

Christy Staats
