8th Grade Updates

Can you believe that your child is only one semester away from starting high school? In preparation for this transition, we have built an 8th grade specific newsletter that we will send out periodically with important 8th grade updates and information from each of the high schools.

Please scroll to your feeder school and we highly encourage you to attend their information sessions!

8th Grade Dance Planning Meeting: Wednesday, January 28th at 3pm (BGW)

8th Grade Dance: Saturday, May 30th 5-9pm (Paradise Valley Golf Course)

8th Grade Promotion: Thursday, June 4th at 10:30am (BGW)

Last Day of School: Thursday, June 4th

8th grade parents: save the date! PTO will be holding a general planning meeting for the big 8th Grade Dinner Dance on January 28 from 3-4 PM in the MPR, so please mark your calendars! This is a very special, more formal catered event hosted at an outside venue that has become a BGW tradition but takes a lot of helping hands. Let's celebrate our graduating students and give them a night to remember with their peers before they head off to high school!

Students slated to attend Rodriguez High School based on residency have received an email from Ms. Escobar with a link to complete their class choices. Only students can complete the form. The form is titled 2026-2027 RHS 9th Grade Course Request and Registration and was sent directly to students' FSUSD email account. Linked below is the 26-27 RHS Course Catalog for RHS.

8th grade students completed academic plans with our counselor. Students who will be attending Fairfield HS can take a look at the 9th Grade Class Options (link coming soon) and update their academic plans as needed.

8th graders feeding into Fairfield HS are invited to attend a shadow day on February 5th. An invitation with the form to sign up will be sent by counselor Ms. Victoria Escobar directly to students and parents.
