District Updates and E-News

Fall is officially here in SWMO. This time of year is always busy as we wrap up our fall sports and get underway with other activities such as Academic Team, Beta Club, FBLA and more!
A few successes to share include the Summit Conference Championship for our varsity volleyball team. Our marching band took second place in the Marionville Apple Fest and third place in the Stockton Black Walnut Festival. In addition, our Middle School Boy's Basketball team is playing for the Summit Conference Championship tonight. We are so proud of our students and staff!
As you may know, our old student information system was bought out by another company, therefore requiring us to move in a different direction. Infinite Campus is our new software and it houses student grades, demographic information, lunch balances, attendance history, tardies and more. Learning the system has been a long and arduous task for all staff members, in particular for our office staff. One area that it took awhile to sync with was our communication system. As you know, it has sent messages out in error to parents regarding their child's absences. We believe these issues are resolved but contact your child's school if you think you received a message in error. One way in which you can also help is to always communicate with our building secretaries when your child is going to be tardy or absent. We appreciate your help.
As I've mentioned before, your partnership matters to us. Successful schools depend on the support and involvement from families and the local community. Our Fordland team looks forward to continuing the collaboration between home and school. Thank you for supporting your child and us.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you're not at work?
A: "Spend time with my friends and family, serve at my church, take my dog on hikes and eat at fun, local restaurants in Springfield."
Q: What's something you can't live without?
A: "My coffee! I need it every morning. I also love to share coffee with my students through the coffee station in my room."
Q: What advice would you give our students?
A: "The choices you make today impact you tomorrow, next week, next month and next year-you are in charge, so take accountability for who you are and who you want to be. Start working towards that today!"
