ATTENDANCE
CELEBRATION COLLECTIVE WORSHIP
Our first Celebration Collective Worship of the academic year was well attended.Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to support the children.
This time provides a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the remarkable effort and achievement of our pupils. We often get asked about how children are chosen and in truth, we are looking for those pupils who are going beyond in terms of effort and attitude.
Some other ways effort and attainment are recognised are through class reward systems and through the 'Growth Mindset' approach which focuses on having an open rather than a fixed mindset to learning and improvement. Children are awarded 'Growth Points' for demonstrating these positive traits. If you are interested in exploring these we have included a link to the cards we display here.
LEARNING AND SUPPORT FOR ONE ANOTHER
Staff are particularly pleased to observe the kind interactions during playtimes and breaks, where our pupils are consistently supporting and caring for one another. These moments of social connection are fundamental to building a strong, compassionate school community. They have been commented on by recent visitors who work in many schools.
REMINDER ABOUT PE KITS
Please ensure your child brings their complete PE kit to school. The best way is to bring it on a Monday and take it home on a Friday. Thank you.
FLU VACCINATIONS
If you wish your child to receive this nasal flu vaccination, please give consent via this link https://humber.schoolvaccination.uk/flu/2025/eastriding as soon as possible.
ARBOR APP FOR AFTER-SCHOOL BOOKINGS
We kindly request that parents use the Arbor App for booking after-school provision. This system helps us manage our extended school activities more effectively. If you have any questions please contact Mrs Headley in the the office who is happy to support you. Thank you to those who have already done so.
ENHANCING THE CURRICULUM
We are delighted to be able to share with you the news that our children will get to experience two exciting live events at Christmas time.
Riding Lights Theatre Group: 'Christmas Inn Trouble' and East Riding Music Service who will perform a selection of Christmas songs and will talk to the children about their instruments and love of music.
Both events will be enjoyable and we know the children will be inspired.
TT ROCKSTARS
Year 2-Year 6 pupils can come dressed as a Rockstar to battle against Sledmere pupils and demonstrate their multiplication knowledge.
YOUR HELP
We share a love of reading across our federation. With this in mind, we welcome support from our wider community in enhancing pupils' reading experiences. Do you have a little time to spare to support reading in school? If you are interested, please get in touch via the office. Many thanks.
