Message Copied From the Image Below:
The St. Louis Cardinals are proud to partner with your school to bring Fredbird & Friends
Elementary School Program presented by Raising Cane’s to your student. We will help the school
community think about the question, “What makes a good teammate?” A member of the
Cardinals organization will accompany our beloved Fredbird to your school’s assembly to
promote the program’s key messages: Be Active! Be Responsible! and Be Yourself!
Fredbird & Friends was designed to be a fun, interactive way for students to better understand
how they can be successful at school, at home, and in life.
This includes:
• Being physically active and participating in extracurricular activities and clubs;
• Valuing what makes them unique as well as the contributions of others;
• Working together with peers, teachers, and family members; and
• Seeking out help from the adults in their lives who can help them achieve their goals.
We’ve provided teachers and school leaders with materials to help them get ready for the
assembly. You might hear your student mention an essay contest or other activities their class is
working on to incorporate the program messages. Our goal is to provide enriching opportunities
that make learning fun. We’ve also encouraged the school to decorate in Cardinal Red in
preparation for the big day!
We invite you to join us for the assembly! Families are an important part of the school
community, and our program is reinforcing messages that you may already be emphasizing with
your student at home. We hope that you also continue the conversation about teamwork at
home after our visit to your school.
We look forward to working with you and your student. If you have any questions about the
Fredbird & Friends Elementary School Program presented by Raising Cane’s assembly, you can
contact your school or visit cardinals.com/school program.

Morning Drop Off Procedures & Handicap Parking
Please do not "park" in the morning drop-off line and get out to walk your student to the door, come talk to staff, etc. If you need to get out of your car, please park and walk up to ensure that the line can continue to move smoothly. If your student tends to take a little longer to unload, please pull up past the powercat so the line will continue to flow safely and smoothly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with our efforts to maintain the safety of all riders.
Please DO NOT block the handicapped accessible parking spots. We have several people that need those spots and have been unable to use them because they are blocked.
If you are not the one who picks up your student, please inform your designee of these important procedures.
Recess Temperature Reminder
**Reminder from the handbook**
Recess is scheduled for children to take a break from school studies. Every effort is made for children to have recess outside. All students are expected to go outside for recess as weather permits. Appropriate clothing should be worn according to the weather conditions. If students do not have appropriate clothing, every effort will be given to provide children with clothing from the nurse’s office. A student must have written or a medical excuse for an extended excuse from recess. In the event that weather conditions are not conducive to outside play, children will have an indoor recess period. The guidelines for indoor recess are when outside temperatures are 20 degrees or less or the outside temperature when combined with the wind chill factor of 20 degrees or less. If the heat index is 100 degrees or above, students will remain inside during recess.
Food Money
We encourage you to fill out a Free & Reduced Meal application to see if you qualify.
If you do not qualify and your student eats meals at school, the fees are as follows:
Full price breakfast - $3.30
Full price lunch - $3.70
Reduced price breakfast - $0.30
Reduced price lunch - $0.40
Extra milk and milk break costs $0.50 per student no matter the free and reduced status.
Students are not allowed to charge more than $10. If your student owes more than $10 then they may be offered an alternative meal in lieu of the daily lunch choice.
Please send in meal money in a labeled envelope. If you are interested, there is an option to pay online through the online parent portal.
Past due balances will be sent home most Friday’s and texted to you..
District phone reminders for balances under $5 will begin soon. You are welcome to send in money or pay online at any time.
As always, if you have any questions, please call the Jonesburg Elementary Office. 833-662-6228 ext 4101.
Clothes & Shoes Recycling Bin at JBE
We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.
Cell Phones & Smart Watches Must Be Out of Sight
