Carnegie Chronicle
November 2025
Note from the Director
Greetings neighbors,
Once again, we have so much great news to share! The most exciting is the unexpected news we received at the end of last month: we will receive a $10,000 gift from Carnegie Corporation of New York in honor of America’s 250th anniversary next year! We're proud to be one of the Carnegie libraries still serving our community as intended. 115 years and going strong!
Please read on and mark your calendars for our continuing DocFest this month, as well as our holiday events in December.
With gratitude,
Christina Danos
Holiday Children's Concert
The Berryville Woodwind Quintet will present a program featuring fun holiday music and a chance for kids to hear and learn about different musical instruments. This free performance for the community's enjoyment will be on Saturday, December 13th at 5PM in the Library Boulevard Bookend (209 Spring Street).
The Friends Book Sale Room is preparing to undergo some much-needed renovations, thanks to a grant from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program. In order to clear out as many books as possible before the work begins, all books will be $1 each and we will not be accepting donations until after the work is complete sometime this winter. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Carroll County Community Foundation, we have a new AWE Learning children's computer in the Media Center!
In addition to the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive, we are having a Food Drive until the end of the year. Collection boxes are located in both library buildings. Please help your fellow community members stay warm and fed this season.
Window Restoration Workshop
I'm sure you've noticed that the window at the main circulation desk has been peeling and in need of help for many years. Thanks to a Preservation Bootcamp by the Main Street Eureka Springs organization, it was restored for free, and attendees learned a new skill. Shout out to instructors Paul, Trevor, and Pete for a job well done!
