8.1.25 Providencia Elementary School Newsletter
Dear Providencia Families,
Welcome rookie and veteran players (students!) to Providencia Elementary School for the 2025–2026 school season! This summer I took my son to his first ever baseball game which gave me a lot of inspiration for this year's theme! I hope your summer break was bases-loaded full of joy, rest, and quality time with family and friends!
Our all-star lineup of teachers and support staff are fine-tuning our game plan to make this school year the best one ever. As your principal, I am honored to coach our distinguished team and school community through a year filled with academic grand slams and unforgettable moments.
📅 Opening Day Mark your calendars—Wednesday, August 13 is our official First Day of School, and it’s sure to be a stadium-worthy celebration! Our gates open at 8:05 AM and we welcome you to line up with your child and greet their new teacher. (This will only be allowed on the First Day of School and thereafter, your child will need to step up to the plate and enter the gates on their own. Don't worry, there will be plenty of staff who can welcome and help guide your child to their line).
🏆 Teaming Up for Success Just like baseball, the best victories come from strong teamwork. A powerful partnership between home and school is the secret to helping our students knock it out of the park—academically, socially, and emotionally. I invite you to stay connected and be involved in your child's education. One of the many ways to stay engaged is to please read this and each weekly newsletter in its entirety all the way to the bottom (no skipping innings!)
All of my newsletters can be translated in 249 languages. Simply scroll to the top of the newsletter and select your preferred language. Click here for more specific directions to translate in Spanish, Armenian or Russian.
💬 Got ideas or questions? You can always send me an email at KennelynCeleste@burbankusd.org or call the front office at (818) 729-3100. I love hearing your thoughts on how we can make Providencia the best ball club in town!
Let’s hit the ground running and make this year another championship season. See you all at the field!
Respectfully,
Principal Kennelyn Celeste ⚾

Confidential Household Income Survey
For the 2025-2026 school year ALL students can eat daily mid-morning snacks (nutrition) and lunch from the cafeteria!
Our school is identified as a Title I school and we receive state and federal funding to support many of our educational programs. Even though we are offering snacks and lunch for free for all students this year, we highly encourage parents to complete the Confidential Household Income Survey on a yearly basis. By doing so, we maintain funding this year and subsequent years which directly impacts our staffing and programs such as STEM Lab and Response to Intervention (RTI).
At the Preseason Event on Tuesday, August 12, copies of the Confidential Household Income Survey will be available for you to complete. The form is also linked below so you can print and complete it ahead of time if you wish. Thank you in advance for helping Providencia maintain our Title I status and school funding which benefit ALL of our students!

Suggested School Supply Lists
Linked here are some common supplies that teachers at each grade level are requesting to start off the school year. It is not required for your child to bring supplies on the first day of school. At our Preseason Event on Tuesday, August 12, we will be providing you more specific supply lists from your assigned teacher.
Supplies that are donated to the classroom are helpful and greatly appreciated, but not required. They become communal which means supplies are collected from all children and then distributed throughout the school year. Supplies are not individualized and we make sure all students have access to necessary materials. Thank you in advance for your kind donations!
