Principal's Priority- Finish Strong!
Principal's Priority - Continue to be a leader!
Jefferson Families,
As we gear up for the last six weeks of school, please remind your child about the power of hard work and positivity and encourage him or her to continue striving to be a Jefferson Leader by following school expectations.
Here are a few tips to help your child get ready for the home stretch:
1. Stay Positive: Remind your child that they're capable of amazing things and encourage them to keep a positive attitude as they tackle their schoolwork, especially those State Tests.
2. Stick to a Routine: Help your child maintain a daily schedule that includes getting to bed, eating breakfast, having time for school work and some fun. Consistency is super important!
3. Set Some Goals: Sit down with your child and help them set some realistic goals for the rest of the school year. It's a great way to keep them motivated.
4. Stay Organized: Encourage your child to keep track of assignments, projects, and important dates. Staying organized makes everything so much easier!
With your support, we know our students will finish the year feeling proud and accomplished. Thank you for teaming up with us to help our students reach their full potential.

Spring Mulching and Clean- Family Event
Bring the whole family and help mulch the grounds at Jefferson Elementary. Tentative date is Saturday May 4th from 9:00 till noon. Click the " I CAN HELP" link below to let us know you would be willing to help spread mulch!
Hallway Prep Crew!
Exciting news, the hallways of Jefferson will receive a fresh coat of paint this summer but we need your help in preparing the walls. Over the years hot glue, tape and wax clips used for hanging items on the walls have left residue on the walls. We need help removing the old hot glue, tape, wax and vinyl letters to prepare for painting. This would be a great social activity for you and a couple of friends to stop in during the day and help scrape the walls. We will provide the scrapers and heat guns you provide the elbow grease!~
Click the "I CAN HELP" link below to let us know you would be willing to help prep the walls!
2024-2025 Jog Commitee
The 2024-25 Jog for Jefferson Committee is now forming. We need two parents from each grade level to be part of the planning committee for the 2024-25 Jog for Jefferson. As a reminder this is the one main fundraiser and supports all the activities we do during the year. Please consider signing up to help. Click the " I CAN HELP" link below to let us know you would be willing to part of planning the 24-25 Jog!
Counselor Corner
We all want to support our children when they're feeling anxious, but sometimes it can be challenging to know the best way to help. It's natural to want to make accommodations to ease their discomfort, but research shows that these accommodations may actually maintain or worsen their anxiety symptoms.
That's where the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) protocol comes in. This evidence-based intervention is designed to help parents effectively support their children who experience anxiety. By learning how to decrease accommodations while increasing supportive comments, parents can play a crucial role in helping their children develop effective coping skills and resilience.
Supportive comments are key to the SPACE protocol. It's all about validating your child's feelings while also building their confidence. For example, you might say, "I know you're feeling nervous about sleeping in your own room. It's okay to feel that way. But I also know that you are safe and capable. You can be brave and nervous at the same time."
When parents receive support, they are better equipped to provide the support and guidance their children need to navigate anxiety-provoking situations. By incorporating the principles of the SPACE protocol into our parenting approach, we can help our children build the confidence and resilience they need to thrive.
