Science Force Labs

Science Force labs are starting this Wednesday, October 14th and will continue throughout the school year. Please consider volunteering for Science Force, a parent-led PTO sponsored program which provides hands-on learning in alignment with your student's science curriculum. No previous science experience is required! We will provide you with a short guide before the lab and hands-on training will be provided by your Science Force lead during the first 15 minutes of your volunteer time. This is a great way to spend an hour of your time to contribute to your student's science education. On the sign up, please scroll to your student's teacher's name - there are 2 labs per grade - one in the fall and spring semester. For 4th and 5th grades, please sign up with your homeroom teacher, who may not be your Science teacher.

Fulton County Schools provides one age-appropriate personal safety lesson each year for students in grades K–5 through RethinkEd. These lessons help students understand body safety, personal boundaries, trusted adults, and how to seek help when needed. Lessons are tailored to each grade level and build on learning from previous years. We will be delivering these lessons in November. Families may review lesson materials by contacting the school counselors. If you don't wish to have your child receive the lesson, please fill out this opt out form and return it to school.

Come in Costume and Trick-Or-Treat on the Mini Golf Courses while you play amongst our Not-Too-Spooky Halloween Décor. Our costumed characters will give out candy and prizes along the course.

On Friday, October 30th, students may wear a Halloween T-shirt. However, students are not allowed to wear costumes. Students will have a chance to dress up as a story book character in March 2027 during Read Across America week. More information about that will be communicated in the Spring.

High Five Fridays: Spreading Kindness, One High Five at a Time!

Throughout October, our Student Council representatives will be spreading positivity by encouraging students and staff with kind words and High Fives every Friday! As part of our Be THE Voice initiative, we will wear our Be THE Voice t-shirt on October 9 and October 16 as we promote kindness, inclusion, and a positive school climate. Did you know free & reduced-price meal applications benefit your family and your school? Families may qualify for free or reduced-price school breakfast & lunch. A NEW application must be completed for the 2026-2027 school year.

If you have not completed a Free and Reduced application for SY26-27, had a change in income or had an increase in household size, please take this opportunity to complete an application. If able, families are encouraged to complete an online application to help expedite the

Future Absence Requests:

Please use the form and follow the directions on our website when making a Future Absence Request. The link to this portion of our website is below. Reminder that all Future Absence Requests (both Pre-Approved and Remote Learning) should be made with at least 5 days advance notice so that our staff can adequately review and prepare for the absences being requested.

If your child is going to be absent, please email WCESRESIDENCY@fultonschools.org and provide the following information -

• Child’s first and last name
• Teacher’s name
• All dates of absence
• The legal reason for the absence

Please note that after three consecutive absences, a doctor's note must be emailed to WCESRESIDENCY@fultonschools.org. Please copy your child's homeroom teacher on every communication.

Parents and guardians are required to review and electronically acknowledge the 2026-2027 Fulton County Schools Student Code of Conduct.

To assist families with this process, we have provided a flyer with step-by-step instructions for accessing and acknowledging the Code of Conduct through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, either on a desktop computer or through the Infinite Campus mobile app.

Please complete the acknowledgment as soon as possible to ensure your student's records remain up to date. Refer to the flyer below for detailed guidance.

All students in grades 3-5 will take the Student Success Skills inventory by the end of the week. Student Success Skills are taught to all students in grades K-5 weekly. Please refer to the attached parent packet for more information on the inventory and program.
