NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hello Kowboy Nation!

Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed a restful winter break with your family. As we return for the week of January, we want to share a few important updates and reflections.

End of Semester 1
The first semester officially ends on January 8th. This is a great time to review your student’s progress and celebrate their accomplishments. Encourage them to reflect on what worked well and where they can improve as we move forward.

A Fresh Start
Semester 2 is here, and with it comes new opportunities for growth. Just like New Year’s resolutions, change doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built through small, consistent habits. Whether it’s staying organized, asking for help when needed, or setting aside time for reading, these daily actions make a big difference.

Reflect and Set Goals
Take a moment with your student to look back on the past year. How are they doing in meeting their goals? What adjustments can help them succeed in the months ahead? Together, you can create a plan that feels achievable and motivating.

Thank you for your continued support. Let’s make this semester a positive and productive experience for every student!

Tardy Passes and out of room pass reminders for the spring semester:

As a reminder, students who arrive tardy to class are issued a tardy slip and is logged in FOCUS as a “T”. We are issuing consequences according to our ladder of discipline. Once a student reaches 5 tardy to class infractions the student is issued a warning and reminder with the dean. 10 or more is work detail during lunch. 15 or more after the work detail is ISS and it escalates from there. One a student reaches 20 or more class tardies, they will have to serve after school detention on Wednesday afternoon. These infractions reset each quarter. You may check FOCUS for your child’s status on any given day as the information is immediate.

CTE Certification:

We are continuing our certification exam administration all throughout January. Notification for specific exams will be communicated under a separate cover. Please ask your child to show them the results of their practice exams. They should have a minimum passing score of 80%. Students may continue to re-take their practice exams in order to achieve this score.
