SILVER FOX NEWS
October 31, 2025
Congratulations!
The wind, rain, and cold couldn’t stop the Silver Foxes from victory on Tuesday!
Our football team closed out the season with an incredible 22–20 overtime win against the North Myrtle Beach Middle Chiefs, bringing home the HTC Hometown Bowl Championship! We are so very proud of our team!
A huge shoutout to our amazing cheerleaders and Coach Sydnee Steele who brought the energy and stayed strong until the very end!
Congratulations and thank you to Coach David Johnson, Coach Adam Ross, Coach Mike Kiser, Coach Stephen Carrasco, Coach Chris Byrd, Coach Britt McDowell and Coach Justin Mortlock for your dedication, leadership, and hard work throughout the season.
Go Silver Foxes! Success, Nothing Less!
Congratulations to our TOMS Staff Member of the Week Mrs. Veronica Scully! She was nominated by Mrs. Teresa LaValle.
Mrs. Scully is a Special Education teacher at TOMS and this is her forth year with us!
My favorite memory of middle school -- I attended a K-8 school, so I never had the traditional "middle school experience". My favorite memories of school involved reading time. I love to read books. I also loved recess
My advice to my middle school self would be that it gets easier. Just hang in there, do your best, be nice, don't be so hard on yourself, ask questions when you don't understand something and things will work out like they are supposed to. Also, to remember that it does not take much effort to be kind to another person. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Please help us congratulate TOMS Chorale Teacher, Ms. Rachel Rollins, and the 27 Ten Oaks Middle School students who have been accepted into the HCS All County and SC ACDA Honor Choir!
We are thrilled to share that Ten Oaks Middle School will once again be wonderfully represented in this year’s All County Choir Event — and this year marks the largest number of students ever from our school to earn this honor! Congratulations to Ms. Rollins and her hardworking TOMS Chorus members on this outstanding achievement!
This week our very own student announcer Ajay Bell received a special surprise visit from local sports broadcaster Mr. Allen Smothers! We are incredibly grateful that Mr. Smothers took the time to speak with Ajay and his dad about a potential future in sports broadcasting. What an inspiring experience for our young announcer!
TOMS Mock Trial Team was on the Move!
This week our TOMS Mock Trial students visited the Horry County Courthouse as part of their preparation for the upcoming regional competition in November. They gained valuable insights and experience to help them shine in the courtroom!
Thank you to Mr. Lentz, Mrs. Boone and Mrs. Wims for their guidance! We’re so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication — keep up the great work, team!

Dear TOMS Parents/Guardians,
In an effort to minimize classroom disruptions and maintain a focused learning environment, we are implementing a few new procedures effective immediately:
Lunch Drop-Offs
If a student’s lunch is dropped off at the front office, it will be placed on a designated cart near the security desk.
Students will not be called out of class to pick up their lunch.
Please remind your child to check the cart if they realize they do not have their lunch.
Other Item Drop-Offs
If other items (e.g., forgotten computers, books, clothing, etc.) are delivered for a student, an email will be sent to the teacher of the class the student is currently attending.
Teachers will check their email regularly throughout the day so students can receive their items in a timely manner.
Changes in Dismissal
Any changes to your child’s transportation home should be communicated prior to your student arriving at school.
Dismissal changes cannot be made over the phone after 2:00 PM to allow sufficient time to notify both the teacher and student.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
