State Testing in May

All 3rd - 8th graders will participate in state testing, also referred to as the Smarter Balanced Test.

Purpose: The test is designed to give parents and teachers information about how your child is progressing academically. This is just one of many pieces of information used in conjunction with classroom work, classroom-based assessments, teacher observation, and progress reports to give a full picture of your student as a learner. In addition, we view test taking as a skill that students need to learn and refine as they advance through their academic career.

For specific information about testing days/times, please refer to your class newsletters or state testing email sent out in April.

Reminder: DIAA forms for Middle School Sports

If your child is entering 6th - 8th grade and is considering playing a middle school sport, they will need a DIAA form filled out by your pediatrician. This needs to be completed each year prior to any tryouts. The link is on our website so if you have a physical scheduled, you will want to get this done when you are there.

FSMA Family Cookbook

Thank you to our ABAR (Anti-Bias, Anti-Racism Committee) for their work on FSMA's first Family Cookbook that is filled with recipes from many different places and cultural backgrounds. Check it out electronically below. Also, we want to send a huge appreciation for everyone who was involved in our Cultural Night. We loved sampling foods prepared by our families and spending time together celebrating our different cultures. We are already excited for next year!
