From Principal Alex From Principal Alex

Hi Everitt families,

Third quarter grades are now available in Campus portal. After reviewing the latest GPA report with Ms. Ronnie, I am proud to share that approximately 70% of our students achieved a 2.0 GPA or higher. Despite the typical mid-winter malaise, our students largely tuned out the distractions. I want to extend my gratitude to our teachers, staff and families for maintaining the high expectations that make these results possible.

While academics are an essential element of Everitt pride, school belonging is also vital. Spirit week participation this quarter reached a record high for the year. From the St. Patrick's-theme green on Tuesday to the sports apparel and Everitt gear later in the week, the energy was notable.

Thursday was capped off with another spirit assembly featuring a hilarious air mattress sliding race and our traditional staff-vs-student basketball game. I had the opportunity to congratulate the student body on their hard work in the classroom, in athletics, and in music, while encouraging them to finish the year strong. The positive vibes were a perfect way to head into the break.

We get right after it again after spring break for the sprint to the finish line. Following a non-contact Monday, International night on Tuesday, March 31st (all community invited) and the 6th grade dance on Friday, April 3rd.

2026-27 Staff Updates

After eight years of dedicated service, legendary 6th grade social studies teacher Rebecca Montez, will be relocating with her family to Southern Colorado. It is difficult to overstate Ms. Montez’s impact on our community. She will be profoundly missed.

6th grade math teacher Jennifer Martin has shared that a family matter requires her to make a cross-country move this summer. We appreciate her successful transition from an elementary digital teacher librarian to a classroom position.

Learning specialist Andy Yoder-Horst looks forward to transitioning into administration as he accepted a dean position at Dunstan MS. We are thankful for his leadership of our sped department the last few years.

Invaluable social worker Kelly Mottern will return to Everitt but for just one day per week due to family commitments.

I am excited to announce that on Friday April 3rd, I will be hosting a STEM Career Day in all of my STEM classes! This will be an opportunity for current STEM students to explore a variety of STEM careers and help them develop an identity in STEM. Students loved this event last semester! If you work in the STEM industry and are interested in speaking with students about your job, career, and experience in the STEM field, please reach out. We would love to have you come and share your stories!

Meet MyFriendBen

The Family and Community Partnerships team recommends MyFriendBen as a tool to help families access available state and federal benefits. MyFriendBen is a mobile-friendly platform that provides individualized benefit reports and connects families to resources such as food, health care, housing and utilities.

By reducing barriers and increasing awareness of available support, this tool helps create more equitable outcomes for students from under-resourced families and contributes to stronger, more connected school communities across Jeffco.

The HUB- Resources are available

Our HUB- or resource room, is a place for students and families to get pantry items, toiletries, clothes and school supplies. We are headed toward the end of the year and we have many food bags in the HUB. If you need them please come get them! There's no paperwork, no credentials, just show up. It is helpful if I know you're coming, but it's not required.

In addition, our HUB is always in need of pants, of all sizes! That is the one item most consistently requested by students, and students who need them are not required to give them back. This is where you come in! If you have kids that have outgrown their clothes, you're making space or have buyer's remorse, I will gladly take them off your hands. We aren't really in need of tshirts, but hoodies are also great to have. Belts, socks, and gently used shoes are also acceptable.

I appreciate your help with this!

Learning Snapshots

This week, I was able to pop in to two different classes to learning about what they were doing in class. Ms. Stahl's science class was working on a unit about sound waves. Ms. Cohen's visual art class is working on drawing still life.
