East Hampton Seniors - Writing Collaboration!

Mr. Holloway’s East Hampton High School Senior Creative Writing Class recently met (on Zoom) with members of the East Hampton Senior Center for a wonderful writing workshop, run by Elizabeth Thomas. It offered an amazing community-building, creative writing opportunity. We followed up the next week, May 20th, with personal writing and sharing of perspectives.

May 27th culminated in a live poetry reading open to family guests, where our groups of “Seniors” presented a variety of writings from this semester of learning. The participants rose to the occasion and provided layers of beautiful language, full of introspection and the love of nature.

The selected writing prompts urged writers to expand on a myriad of technical and critical thinking skills. Participants enjoyed the process and build-up of ideas, which led to sharing and insight. What an enjoyable series of experiences for all!
